There isn’t really a place where you can post anonymously like 4chan though. Although they didn’t allow VPNs since a few years so it’s not totally anonymous anyway…

Yeah… I think most people mistake hating ai from hating the way it is implemented.
There are plenty of really good reasons to hate ai for the way it is being implemented (plagiarism for one). Or shitty companies replacing good employees that do a better job than an ai just for cost saving (short term profit, shareholders above anything).
I believe ai can be usefull especially for doing menial repetitive tasks. And it should be possible to implement ai in an ethical way so it can benefit anyone and not just leech.
But currently big tech is implementing it in a shitty way and they will find a way to enshittify ai (just like they did with social media).
Everyone is being lured in with “free” queries and when everyone is “addicted” and all of the competition has either gone bankrupt or bought they’ll start charging money and make the service worse.
It boggles my mind that half the US population voted for people who: -wants to make everyone who is not already super rich poor -destroy the planet with pollution -take away everyone’s freedom and rights -destroy the economy
Oh well, enjoy your dystopia i guess?
install app
“Do you agree to share your information with 289 of our partners or opt out by going through a list and deselecting them one by one”?
Yeah any app that asks this is guaranteed spyware.
Also, use F-Droid as much as possible. It’s not perfect but still miles better than the play store
I hope to see free open source, non-big tech Linux OS for phones one day.
I wish phones were more like regular computers where you just buy a phone and then decide which OS you install. Or at least be able to change the OS.
That was a fun read. Loved the sarcasm.
I dont trust anything that isn’t fully decentralized. Bluesky is very weird in that regard, its partially centralised. I guess it’s better than Twitter (but that is setting the bar very low). I still refrain from using it too often.
It will almost certainly have ads in the future and will inevitably go down the path of reddit, twitter and Facebook so I prefer to use something that is completely out of reach of the CEO if something goes to shit.
Good lord, the amount of idiots that white knighted me for using uBlock.
“WOULD U WORK FOR FREEEEE???”
Like fuck off no I wouldn’t. I also dont buy up every other company I see, turn it to shit and then try to force a political agenda through it, and guess who IS doing that using billions of dollars? Yep, Google.
You’d think people would want something different like a non proprietary OS that spies on your every daily aspect of your life seeing the recent tensions in the word.
But nah let’s all keep using Facebook, MS, Google and act all surprised pikachu face when 1984 finally happens.
I’ve been wanting a phone with alternate OS for ages now but it simply isn’t there. Guess ill just have to stick to grapheneos for now.
If blackberry manages to come back without using android I might consider them. It its just going to be another shitty android phone with a blackberry skin on it then I’ll pass. Probably a fat chance anyway since no one will buy a phone that doesn’t have android or iOS.
Pdf will always look the same though. A doc/docx file can look wildly different depending on the editor you are using.
I’m using the voyager app and the experience is almost 1:1 with reddit if that maybe helps you.
People are so ignorant of it too. Last time I mentioned lemmy as an alternative somewhere on discord I got nearly banned.
It always amazes me people keep on using centralised platforms like reddit.
Sure lemmy isn’t perfect but at least if one instance goes crazy you can always switch.
I’ve decided I’m not using websites that block mullvad anymore. I’m talking about a hard block like reddit does and not a captcha (captcha is fine by me).
If they’re doing that much trouble to prevent me from using a VPN they must me doing some pretty shady shit with my data.
I will not move to another VPN because of all VPNs I feel Mullvad respects my privacy most.
Yeah, it’s kinda sad but that will probably happen.
Yeah, except most people suck.
Last time I mentioned lemmy I was almost banned.
Chickens need food, shelter and care.
While I think it’s fun to have chickens, I’d hate to think of people getting chickens just for food and neglecting then otherwise. And there are a lot of people out there who only care about money (and not animals) sadly.
Thanks I’ll definitely check that out. I’ve seen some posts about it working on Synology Nas devices so that’s very interesting.
While both of those are great software. Unless I’m not aware of something they aren’t cloud/network based office suites like Google docs and office 365.
It seems this is an alternative to office software where you can work simultaneously and share documents in the same cloud/network.
I don’t think there is an alternative to office 365 and Google docs at this point that is open source. So this seems like a great project and I’ll definitely be considering it for our company.
There were some okay boards like /a/ and /vg/. The rest was pure trash. I used to play warframe and world of tanks and /vg/ had a pretty decent thread (but that was like 10? Years ago) where you could find other players and discuss builds.
/a/ was okay but as soon as reddit (which i stopped using too) had a decent anime community i left from that too since it was mostly shitposting.
Unironically /g/ sometimes had some good threads for recommending used laptops.
The past 5? years I barely visited it since every single board became a breeding ground for hate speech, trolling and shitposting. I checked time to time if things became better but nope. I decided it was better to just check reddit (and now lemmy) communities that highlighted the funny posts.
