Yes, exactly. I also like how the creeping tones across the scene speak to how that perception can colour the experiences of others. It’s easier to treat people nicely, as colourful humans rather than drab pedestrians, after one has a little treat.
It is ultimately all for not, but tasty in the moment nonetheless. I do take issue with the artist’s characterization of this as collage, when it is more accurately a mixed media palimpsest.
