Linux@lemmy.ml•[Experiment] Using a cheap Intel Optane as a swap partition
5·2 days agowith that kind of speed it could probably run a lean linux system pretty well if you move /home to another drive. or a small server.
sounds like neat hardware to play with.
they do better onboarding last i tried it, but adding servers is not as simple as just pasting a code. you suddenly have to worry about servers and which rooms are in which server and such. you do have to make sense of things when you first log in.
i found it unfamiliar, but i guess such is life when you are swapping apps. the clients i tried could use some tweaking and feel pretty sparse. some looked and felt like IRC.
it should have more pictures (not entirely unserious)

20·2 days agoit’s cool that you can even do that. i have a spare m2 slot and i found it for basically free too.
i have zero need for that but i might just do this, out of the sheer cheapness of it. did you benchmark it?

9·2 days agothat’s it, they will finally be charging us a subscription for breathing.
between the alleged cheating (didn’t watch that tho), the zionist ties and the racism displayed by fans, it leaves kind of a bad taste. messi is among the best in the world at football, for what it’s worth.

2·2 days agoremember when you could actually find stuff on the internet? there would always be an open forum or website for that niche and the collected experience of the people in there.
everyone thought it was going to go so well before big money bought it out.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Another fake leftist party to make "voters" feel like they're doing something 😁
2·3 days agoi bet they could sell it to the public if they are savvy enough.
if they sell zionist demsocs pretty effectively in the us, imagine another new deal which is lib wet dream.
manipulating semiotics like this can be pretty powerful in manipulating how we perceive something.
vegeta’s chapstick habit had given him the plumpest lips
it’s super snappy and fast isn’t it?
mpv on linux, vlc whenever i’m on windows.
no particular reason, just habit.

5·5 days agoi think the us will eventually reach another new deal if it’s ruling class is still smart enough.
a few more years/decades of deceiving the public is the best they could hope for.

yeah we’re gonna fucking need some type of carbon removal to work.
