Fuck a movie, we need a Xena sequel series. Get Lucy Lawless and Renee O’Connor back to pass the torch to a new generation of ass kicking women.
Ideally, both of them could be regulars as well, I just don’t think they’d be down to do the fights anymore.
It’s basically the best virtualization platform. It can do full system emulation across a number of platforms, or hardware assisted virtualization (using KVM). It’s incredibly useful for debug as well as doing real work.

Uh, what? The Ayn Rand garbage philosophy? I’ve never heard that and don’t see how that jibes with a free, crowd sourced encyclopedia…
I’ve never seen a repo so reticent to tell you what it is.
My guess is it’s the journal software running the .org but everything also seems to be down half the time.
I like this comic but Beetle Moses needs to actually look at a tortoise, haha.
Their arms and legs don’t pop out of holes in their shells, their shells are more like wraps around their torsos (it’s a strapless dress, not a onesie). Also those scutes (panels of the shell) are fucked.
… Why yes, I’m fun at parties, why do you ask?

It does seem like a parody. Isn’t the backstory of Ebenezer Scrooge throwing his life and relationships away for profit? I can see some opportunities for showing how stupid that is, but without the epiphany moment of A Christmas Carol, will he just end the story as a bitter old man?
Or is this just a retelling of the whole story at which point it’s yet another remake that doesn’t need to be made…

Complete non-story. The Deck has been out for years for this verification to mature and it’s usually less about specs (in the age of FSR/DLSS etc.) and more about “can this game be played with this control scheme comfortably” which is not an issue for the Steam Machine since it’s just a PC.

Have some examples? I wouldn’t be surprised but the last time I watched I didn’t hear anything that I considered problematic. Admittedly, I’m willing to forgive a lot of generalization when characters are walking caricatures and say crazy shit regularly.

Good list. I think the only one I’d disagree with is Mallrats. Clerks is still brilliant, but last time I put on Mallrats it didn’t hit at all.

I think a lot of Mel Brooks and Zucker comedies (Naked Gun et. al.) have aged pretty well with their absurd and physical comedy although they can definitely fall flat sometimes.
Christmas Vacation also comes to mind. I think everyone can still relate to the holiday family dynamic.
Even older can still be good - thinking like His Girl Friday style screwball comedies, or Desk Set, Some Like it Hot etc. They still work as comedy, you’ll laugh, but they may also require a bit more cultural context to really enjoy, or interest in the period/fashion.
This is definitely about the D language, I just haven’t heard anything about in a long time (since Rust ate its lunch) and nothing about it using AI or long time devs leaving.
Was there drama with D? I’m out of the loop…

Do you think benchmark results like these are meaningful when comparing Linux distributions?
Almost never. Bumping the minimum architecture version and optimization levels is all well and good, but unless you’re doing tons of vector oriented workloads it’s not going to qualitatively make a difference.
Yeah, not a tankie but the PRC and the USSR were huge in lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty and generally creating stability in parts of the world that effectively still practiced feudalism.
Doesn’t make them anti-imperial or excuse their more disastrous/evil decisions either.

I’m not watching an ad or a Twitter post to get a read on this but does anyone actually want this? I watched the first one many times because I was 12 and then grew out of it by the sequel. A lot of this late 90s/early 00s comedy seems cringe at best and problematic at worst and now needs to compete with infinite sophomoric YouTube videos.
Not to mention, the Bond franchise got way serious in response to Austin Powers, and the 60s spy he was parodying doesn’t seem nearly as culturally relevant to the kids this would need to appeal to to be successful.
… Or is this pure cash grab?

He’s 36 and has made about 16 million over his career, there’s not much risk to his future here. Good on him though.
Haha, I have the same feeling for opposite reasons. I grew up in a warmer environment but kept my feet against the cool exterior wall my bed was next to. Now I have to have my feet uncovered and a fan on just to feel comfortable and tucked in sheets feel like I’m trapped.
Being human, eh?

Eh, as long as it’s just the proper noun, I don’t really care that much. Languages can have their own versions of nouns based on the cultural context at the time. Is calling Deutschland Germany a problem? Zhongguo China? Nah.
You wanna call Shakespeare something different, go for it, it just means he was important enough to have a moniker in another language.
If you’ve read all the OG Dune content, I say go for it. They aren’t at the same level, but they’re… Fine. Get it from the library or wherever and try it. Go in with low expectations and possibly get pleasantly surprised, or never pick them up again.
