I think I saw someone selling “rapture insurance” a while a go. Iirc they pay a one time fee to get on a registry and they would go around and collect pets that didn’t get raptured with their owners.
actually, i found my dog in a dumpster. With her sister, that now lives with my brother.
7·5 months agoThe hype train for hl3 is so off the rails that valve can’t release it. It would never live up to the hype, so it’s a pretty sound decision not to make it.
2·6 months agoAs a big fan of the genre I’m sad to say that there’s not much else that looks like it.
Darfall is decent but lacks depth and variety. Having a hero Is nice, but the item drops can make or break your run.
I’ve yet to play age of darkness: final stand. But from what I gather there is not alot of variety in the endgame that can lead to a lot of wasted time if you’re not doing the 1 thing that works 100% of the time.
6·7 months agoThe book certainly has its moments, but the movie is much more entertaining. ‘The moon is a harsh mistress’ is a better book imo

Just an anecdote but never the less.
A couple of years ago I got a job at an animal shelter in a country that’s not the one I live in. For this I was paid 400€/m in cash to cover my bills back home during the time. So I went to the local BTCatm and even though they charge an insane markup (15/20% iirc) it was still cheaper than the “minimum fee” charged by the bank/western union.
As useful as the electricity or fire? Probably not. But as a tool for low paid workers that go to another country and is sending money home to their families without having to pay half of it in fees it’s pretty usefull.

2·9 months agoImo there’s a difference between “a kid having a job”: your 10 year old is helping on the farm, feeding the chickens, picking apples, etc.
And “child labour”: your 10 year old Is working 10 hour days sewing sneakers for Nike.
This as a one time. you pick it, you can keep it kind of deal would be awesome for the kids.

Probably where the animal interfere with the work? Imo doesn’t matter what kind of animal you bring as long as it’s not a nuisance. The line isn’t drawn by species but behaviour
I.e got a chill duck that just hangs around that’s fine. Hyper puppy that chews on cables and pisses on all the plants, not so much. As for a hippo you would have to check the buildings structural integrity.
