Just as an aside, that $20bn figure wouldn’t even come close to ending homelessness in the US. That’s just how much it would cost to house the homeless population, which is a bandaid on the issue.
The US government as a whole needs a major rewrite to actually address the issue. It’s not a situation with a simple solution.
