You’re requiring the entire American populace to have the same level of being informed as yourself in order for this plan to work. In the real world, lots of people are incredibly ignorant of the actual political situation in the US. The democrats need to adjust their messaging to get those who aren’t politically engaged but vote. That means speaking on the material reality for the average person and discussing how to solve those issues. That means EMBRACING MORE PROGRESSIVE POLICIES.

The only way to change that is to change the makeup of the court, which requires a trifecta. So yes, it isn’t the end of the world, but it isn’t “no big deal” either.

In order to undo the damage, we have to fundamentally change the Democrat Party to be just as far left as the Republicans have moved right. And that took them over a decade to accomplish (and they have the easier task, since big business wants both parties to move right).

Let’s say $500 a ton, which is less than the actual cost. That’s $18 million a year for this one facility, and you’d need >$1.8 trillion annual to run all the facilities for net zero. It would become the largest single industry in the world (passing agriculture at $1.3 trillion annually)
