I love my PI hole but it’s needing a complete upgrade and a list rebuild. Damned thing is so reliable and solid I literally forget I’m running it. Things been up for over a year and not one issue.

Being short of money pretty much covers it for me. Yeah sure I could whip up some sustenance but I’m not “that” hungry. Where if there was a dirty nachos pile with hot dog pieces I could make appear from the local 7-11 for 2 bucks … .HELL yes.

If I had his money I’d be 24/7 inventing cool things for myself and wife and friends to experience. This guy has a fundamental need to be the loudest person in the room and to embroil himself into anything and everything. I would almost feel sorry for him - his life has got to really suck so bad and he can’t fix it. So instead he goes off on 100 projects that make no sense or fall apart. There’s stuff I can’t wrap my head around like - why ditch LIDAR when it’s absolutely the answer ? You just know his convoluted brain is so full of mess that if you were offered a deal with the devil to get all his money on the condition that you got trapped in his meat grinder of a mind… you’d turn down the offer.

In one generation it’s really changed from being a place where workers were valued and trained or developed. Now we are all ( and even many specialized jobs ),in a society where you are an undervalued disposable cog in the big wheel. Employers no longer care if you vanish. I’ve seen so many examples where they hire in someone new to replace the guru who quit that was utterly done with management and policy. The new person tries but has sparse training and unless they are a go getter they spew errors into the system rampantly. This is ignored by management while on time delivery slips past the goal posts. There’s no documentation - this step gets skipped. I’m currently in a fortune 500 company and mostly just bitching about my gripes but how we run a business using the “everyone is disposable” mentality is costing companies billions. Senior management does not care.

I can’t do the low sodium. I love V8 and have for years. Love adding hot sauces and it even passes for a low effort bloody Mary but taking the salt out of it is a deal breaker.

I painstakingly took a journey to hand delete each and every one of my posts and comments and then delete my user name. They got no free stuff outa me.

I remember when I was you enough to completely customize win 3.11 so it didn’t look anything like stock and did everything the way I want. Now I find most of my PCs have the default ‘just installed the os’ after years of service. I support your effort but get nothing but a nostalgic chuckle.

As a new user of proton… Id like to hear what you think is sketchy. I haven’t heard anything negative.

I’ve used it on an old HP all in one and it made it useful again. The daughter tossed it because it lagged hella bad and her Roblox and Minecraft etc sucked, Runs Baldurs gate 1 and 2 just fine and all my older game emulators so I love to bust it out for Wii gaming night etc. The machine is pure crap with integrated graphics and a whooping 8gb ram. Thats gotta burn seeing all the stuff I’ve got going and knowing you threw it out. Then again I dont know if it’s noticed over TIk Tok

That ask is a bad question when an E machine from 2005 will run swimmingly with any distro. The better question would be will it do what I want in the way that I want and no one asks. Bonus tho as two years ago I didnt see this kind of person actively searching for a new OS.

not by default. Your mileage may vary but I’ve had little to no trouble with my setup.

Agreed - bazzite being immutable (which I only recently learned) means its perfect for gaming only devices. Not even your kid could screw it up.

Second time tonight I have heard of this distro - I may have to check it out.
