I know it’s the sources title but it’s a confusing one. For a minute, I was surprised that there were a group of Republican attorney generals blocking climate laws that were being pushed by the oil companies.
Turns out the title should be Group of US Republican attorneys general, funded by oil firms and dark money, blocking climate laws.
This is a bit off topic, but I really dislike terms like toxic masculinity or traditional masculinity.
I prefer talking about it in terms of “prescribed masculinity” which I think is the actual problem here. If you enjoy being a sports bro, who lifts weights, and is really into cars. Awesome! If you enjoy table top games and reading, awesome! Something completely different? Believe it or not, also awesome! As long as you’re not using it as an excuse to be an asshole to someone, men should pursue whatever will make their life the most fulfilling. But as far as defining masculine as some specific traits or interests, fuck that noise.
I’m with you. Also, it’s not clear to me why people think listening to your friends means you suddenly are responsible for their problems. You don’t have to take on their burden, but you can listen, maybe offer advice, and empathize. You don’t need to solve their problem.
So far I’m enjoying it! It has a soft progression limiter where you get cursed in such a way that monsters get increasingly more damaging every encounter… this goes away after you run into this person a few times.
My only concern is that I’ll feel the need to replay it once all of the content is there… which I guess isn’t too bad!
Ah yeah I could see that. My family got into it for a few months and was a lot of fun. I did have pretty good experiences with randos though.
Maybe give FFXIV a try! There’s a pretty expanded free portion that lets you play through a large portion of the game. I enjoyed the gameplay and there’s something resembling a story.
Gotcha! Thanks for the clarification!
I just recently started playing OW2 again after several years. I was able to unlock all of the heroes just by playing. I didn’t pay anything. My kids also have unlocked the vast majority without paying anything.
Is the only difference here that you won’t have to get to level 30 or whatever on the free tier battle pass?
Only the cellular iPads have the eSIM. The standard WiFi ones do not. Since iOS covers both of these devices, older models, and folks who choose not to have a carrier despite having the ability to do so, I don’t believe this would be a partial solution at best.
Interesting thought! This wouldn’t work for iPads and iPhones with no sim (but use WiFi) though
I’m really interested to see how they’re going to region lock this. Will it be where the device was sold? Does that comply with EU regulations? Will it be geographical location? If I move to the US, will it lock the side loaded apps? If I grab a VPN can I side load things?
I feel like lizard and starfish should be swapped. Or can I cut a lizard in half and get two lizards?
Left the house for a walk in the rain with the wife. Lots of mountain bikers were out!
Is the intention of this site/article to erode trust in science?
I’m all for bad science being pointed out and, hopefully, addressed… but this article feels like it’s heavily leaning on anecdotal evidence that entire swathes of the science community are doing a poor job… the article largely cites tweets which themselves refer to a potentially bad study.
As a former teacher, advisor to a state attorney general, and now an executive at Meta — I’ve dedicated my career to protecting children online.
That’s an awfully strange pathway to executive at Meta.
No worries! I always thought of a “joke” as something that was intended to make me laugh. When I first saw this, I laughed as I didn’t expect a reference to her old show. So I personally consider it reasonable to call it a joke. Either way, this all has made me want to go back and watch an episode or two of Married with children. Cheers!
The voice actor for Leela (Katey Sagal) played Peggy Bundy in the tv show Married… with children, which was hugely popular in the 90s. The above picture was a very common scene from the tv show. Peggy with huge hair, sitting on the couch with her husband watching tv and eating junk food. So, it’s a fun reference to her previous work.
Company currently uses IPv6! For awhile firewall rules kept biting us as we’d realize something worked in ipv4 but not IPv6 but now I forget it’s even a thing really.
I once paid for a vpc host that was exclusively IPv6 and was shocked how many things broke. I was using it for a discord bot and the discord api didn’t even properly support IPv6 …
