Why would you do the things that need doing on the promise of dopamine at the end, when you could instead do something else entirely with instant gratification?

Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four thinking about it.

And maybe a new handle, since I’m in the shed anyway.

        Was that lightbulb always crooked?

Recently begun medication and am able to skip the entirety of the green, now I have hours where there is nothing that needs doing.

How do normal people deal with this.

Are you on the one that has a building effect?

        Oto-something?

        Elvanse here.

used ritalin for years and now am on Elvanse since January. so, i feel that it helps, bit only retrospective… like “yeah the last two weeks i was more likely to get something done”. i heard that it is normal to sense when the effect starts and fades in the evening, that i don’t have at all.

Using timers really helped me. “Ugh those dishes will take HOOURRSSSAAA”

I do themband time it and it was 2 minutes. still hard to trick myself every time.
