No kidding. I work with robots in a factory and these pieces of shit need to be babied all day. “Oh no the part is .01mm outside of tolerances, I don’t know what to do!” meanwhile I can just grab the part, smack it with a hammer, and we’re fine.
/u/outwrangle before everything went to shit in 2020, /u/emma_lazarus for a while after that, now I’m all queermunist!

These days they might train a chatbot on your photos, texts, and voice recordings to try and scam relatives.

I tried.
Go back to Reddit.

People are going to react to this with a knee-jerk “nuh uh!” because you’re being a smug reddituer about it, but I’m going to take a different approach. China actually invests in its infrastructure so obviously it’s going to have more and newer cameras, simply because it’s actually building and expanding. In China you might be surveilled in one of the more than 1000 high speed rail stations. In the UK it might be in one of four, or more likely a low speed train station. In the US it might be a bus station.
That’s the difference. When countries are growing and building, they’re installing cameras. Every country is going to install more and more cameras forever, the only countries that won’t are the ones that are in decline. China is growing and building faster than anyone, so they’re going to have more cameras. This needs to be taken into account.

It took several hundred years to make factories even reasonably safe for humans to work in, and yet still, workplace injuries are extremely common because the human form is simply bad at doing this kind of work. It’s trash.

The human form isn’t designed to work in a factory, why would you make your robots have humanoid bodies??
This is 100% management being scammed.
This thread isn’t about other states. This thread is about Iowa.
Why is Iowa suing Temu and not suing Amazon for collecting private consumer data?
Iowa is not suing Amazon and we are talking about Iowa.
I never once did that. I never said the article is false. My points were always:
Temu is doing what every other US company is doing, and US companies collecting our data are more dangerous because they can actually hurt me.
A double standard is being applied to Temu because of Chinese ownership, and reporting on this without acknowledging that double standard is propaganda.
This thread is about Iowa. I don’t know why you can’t stay on topic. Iowa is targeting Temu because they’re Chinese and won’t go after US companies that do the exact same things, or worse, because they’re US companies. I don’t know why you refuse to talk about Iowa in a thread about Iowa.
Again, you aren’t engaging with what I have to say. You’re just firing off responses as fast as you can to “win” the posting rpg.
This was about Iowa. You did nothing to show that Iowa gives a shit about Amazon and isn’t applying a doubled standard.
I said, a lot earlier in the comment chain:
But why does Iowa care so much more about China collecting data than the US?
And it was in a thread where the OP is about Iowa. That was the context in which I said Amazon won’t face consequences. I was clearly talking about Iowa law and why Iowa targeting Temu is biased, you bringing up Biden’s FTC making decisions three years ago to refute this. You aren’t seriously engaged with what I have to say, you just want to “win” the discussion.
I hate talking to redditeurs.
Talking to people from reddit.world is exhausting.
To clarify, Amazon will never be sued by Iowa, even though it’s certainly guilty of exactly the same thing as Temu.
Amazon will never face consequences. Being heavily connected with China is why they are facing consequences.
They’re a Chinese owned company. Amazon is not. Therefore, the Chinese owned company faces consequences, the US owned company does not.
Amazon will never be caught because it is a US company. You see?
“deceives Iowans about the quality of the products offered on its platform, flooding the United States and Iowa markets with substandard products,” which violates Iowa’s Consumer Fraud Act.
This also describes Amazon.
Nothing will ever be done about it.
Do you think “propaganda” is a synonym for “lie”?
It’s a good thing that China subsidizes EVs. We should be doing that too!
