Brie Larson is awesome and this also stars John Goodman, the short story it is based on is a reskinning of Jekyll and Hyde. That is interesting.
The only thing that gives me pause is JJ Abrams.
JJ is a massive red flag.

Early in his career he made a number of great movies and one of the most refrshing and famous TV shows in history, Lost.
Since then it is has been a slow and later a very steep drop in quality. Now his products are pretty much to be avoided.
Ah I see the last thing I saw of his was lost and while it ended poorly I think it was alright.
Oh yeah! The first three seasons were incredible. It did drop in the last two.
Oh boy JJ Abrams, I love movies that are half-baked and unsatisfying.
