    Explanation: The German Empire smuggled Vladimir Lenin into the new socialist-aligned government of Russia during WW1, in the hopes that Lenin would cause trouble for the new anti-Tsarist Russian government and knock them out of the war.

    German hopes were fulfilled, the socialist-aligned provisional government was overthrown, elections were nullified, and Russia under Lenin signed over all of Germany’s territorial demands.

      Aha… So it was Germans who helped in creation of the USSR and then tried to undo their mistake in WW2, but unsuccessfully.

          Aaaand the USSR supplied germany with resources for years before WW2.

          Yes, but then they attacked the USSR 1941. I haven’t said that they started the WW2 by attacking USSR.
