Satan is not out here murdering 168 school children. Christians are doing that. Satan is not out here raping and genociding its neighbors. Jews are doing that. Satan is not out here murdering peaceful protestors. Muslims are doing that.

Satan isn’t really much of a presence in the Bible at all. Christians made up more shit to have something to blame for everything they don’t like.

Wasn’t it that Satan did 4 things?

          • A bit of arrogant rant that he is not gonna serve humans. Got thrown to hell. By all loving father. Yeah.
          • Still pissed, nudged Eve to break the God rule about apple. God had a meltdown and not only banished but also cursed Adam and Eve.
          • Teased Jesus to break his goal. Didn’t work.
          • Teased God on few occassions about devotion of humans. Then God made people suffer to prove his point.

Like, Lucifer always seemed to me more like disgruntled old family friend/worker than some evil guy.

Eh, don’t know if you can truly separate the IDF and their religion. Certainly the rhetoric they employ relies upon it.

Because of nationalism and colonialism. They might use religious rhetoric where it suits them and there are religious people in government, I don’t deny that, but over all it’s a ethnic supremecist ideology and religion is only one identity marker, not the motivator.

Organized religion is a very useful tool for imperialism and capitalism, and I’m tired of pretending it isn’t

Evangelical Christianity IS a manifestation of capitalism. It is the culture arm of capitalism.

It predate capitalism by a thousand year but ok.

You’re thinking of protestant, it’s not secret that allowing usury meant breaking up from the pope. But even then, religions are theaters of the class war, not only tools for the powerful.

Christianity predates capitalism. Evangelical Christianity is a much more modern development.

I don’t recall saying any of these words you’re putting in my mouth. Are you suggesting the people committing these atrocities are not what I say they are?

Racism literally came from Christianity. It definitely is the problem and creates a framework to allow capitalists/wealthy to take advantage of people.

I know you guys are oppressed by a bunch of christian fundamentalist, but my wife is muslims and secularists here would love to “remigrate” her to the very same biggots that tried to kill her.

Imagine confusing xenophobia with racism. While there are some traditional cultural groups that experience discrimination this does not translate to general racism like in the US or European.

Most African Americans experience more freedom in Japan than in Christian dominated cultures. Why is that?

My point is that the US isn’t evil specifically because it’s christians and that religion isn’t the enemy.

My wife’s muslim and the fascists here would have no problem shipping her back to the very same place where extremists attempted to her life. In the name of atheism.
