  • You can’t exist in a solely ideological paradigm. You have to be pragmatic while working towards bending the world towards something better.

I am simply arguing that advertisements have a bad effect on society and our everyday lives. If more people cared, more could be done about it, instead of most people being unaware and/or delusional of its subconcious effects, and doing nothing about it.

You think the cookie business advertisements are no problem. I disagree, even though I ultimately believe there are much bigger problems (of course…) - This advertisement is manipulative nonsense, like the vast majority of them, and the business or the product etc. is not a cute little innocent thing.

What you say is true, and yet there’s something more deeply unsettling. The ideology and founding of the U.S. is at its core anti-social. So is the competitive economy (and so on). It’s a dog eat dog structure of things, not just a few dip shits in the <1% (although it is that too)

  • Capitalism wants us isolated, sad, and reliant on their products/services. The antidote is strong community.

I whole-heartedly agree, and yet it is virtually impossible to do such a thing as “build community” at this point, at least in the United States. There is like a pervasive anti-community dark magic / anti-matter sort of thing
