Yeah, there are games where side quests are just cookie cutter and all look the same and there are ones, where you won’t get full experience of the game unless you also do side quests and they can even affect game ending. Witcher 3 was such experience for me. If I would just storm through main quest, ignoring side quests I don’t think the game would leave as much of a lasting impression as it did.

  • I read recently “On Freedom” by Timothy Snyder and he mentions that. Billionaires are sucking or wealth and when we suffer, we are told that this is temporary and toward a greater good (which never comes).

Sadly it is successful and a lot of Americans believe that.

It opened my eyes seeing how we are set up to fight each other (blaming minorities) while oligarchs are making our lives more miserable by hoarding country’s wealth.

  • I agree what you wrote, but I have problem with this paragraph:

It doesn’t really matter to the US, we produce a ton of oil domestically and have been switching over our refineries to process it. Europe, China and India will be the ones to really feel the squeeze when Russian oil goes offline.

While it is true that US produces enough oil domestically to have enough for itself the price for oil is global.

US has option to of course close its exports and not be affected by it, but in the process it will lose its allies who will suffer even more by that (this sounds more like that trump would do, as it would piss off allies which we need and it could be sold internally as protecting Americans)

The other option would be to keep market open, but then the price hike would affect us but it would be smaller, because it would be shared among everyone.

  • It’s all a manufactured outrage. They supposedly buy these cars because “gas is cheap” and then they lament when gas goes few cents up.

BTW: the gas will likely go up when US will decide to put on the final squeeze on Russia. Currently Russia escapes sanctions by selling their oil through intermediaries. This is purposefully ignored right now to keep the oil prices low.

  • Three streaming (like pointed in the other comment) was my initial reaction too, but indeed at the time https for streaming would be very rare.

Another possibility is to realize that openssl isn’t just for communication, but also has implementation of cryptographic algorithms.

Perhaps openssl was used for validation of licensing key? For example they could sign the license with their private key and WinAmp could verify it’s authenticity with its public key.
