Contemplating the jorb.
Contemplating the jorb.
No worries, it’s been a rough week.
Bacon is the title of the daily comic strip this panel comes from. The joke is that the cactus on the left has its “arms” (branches?) point up, as most cacti do, and is looking at the cactus on the right with its arms down, and that cactus on the right is explaining that, as a cactus, it doesn’t really have any other way to show how it feels.
I don’t think you’re missing anything, it’s not super-duper funny – just a little silly 😊 .
I can assure you its use is innocent, here.
But after looking up I can understand your concern. It seems to be one of those otherwise innocuous phrases that’s been co-opted by miscreants.
There’s an old saying that goes, “One is the loneliest number.” Non-programmers usually start counting at one, making it the first number in the count.
Programmers generally have to start counting at 0. So to them, the first number is 0. So the joke is that a non-programmer would say “one is the loneliest number” a programmer would say “zero is the loneliest number” because the numbers they start with when counting are different.
Aww! 🐔 💕
Because programmers start counting at 0! 😆
Ok, that was funnier in my head…
Not totally related, but even though it’s tempting to kick those cube-shaped HP MicroServers across the datacenter, they’re actually a lot more dense than they look.
*sigh*
0 is the loneliest number :(
“I am watching my friend play a game that I like. She is playing it for the first time!”
women tend to care more about the POLICY
Clearly the case with white women – 52% of whom voted for Trump in 2016. He got 53% of white women this year.
They like his Supreme Court nominees, his support of abortion policy chaos with bans in some states threatening prison time for doctors and patients, his policy for separating migrant children from their parents, they seem to really love his pussy grabbing policy especially, and his offer to protect them whether they like or not, and I WISH I was trying to be funny here, but this is all literally true. White women love Trump.
I mean smug, condescending, and insulting his opponent worked for Trump. “She’s a very stupid woman. Very low IQ.”
Ah, the ol’ Elixer/Mega Ether conundrum!
“I just voted for it!”
For a long time, they didn’t. The RNC was legendarily attacked by the Tea Party movement, by Trump during the 2016 primaries, and continued to be slated by MAGA up to the point it was wholly taken over by Trump.
Beating trump isn’t hard.
He won three out of four primaries, and two out of three general elections. It seems… pretty fucking hard.
Maybe it’s the fact that America’s national character is to lust for domination and revenge. Compassion cannot win because America despises it.
On the contrary: I paint all Americans with the same broad brush.
Fair enough, I’ll change that bit.
Well, given a choice between “self care” and “others’ harm” I suppose…
