I guess it’s inevitable that the USA must copy China’s approach to managing the internet… the existential crises are reaching a breaking point

I wonder how many Americans, while believing they are a sophisticated culture, understand this is a test of their common existential narrative… which is backward and evidence of an inability to scale given modernity

Sure, it’s always at least accompanied by a good spicy salsa. It’s definitely different from the food further north though. Tacos are there but they’re not as good as Mexico City, for the most part. My absolute favorite thing to eat there are the tlayudas especially from the vendors on the street which you, conversely, won’t find up north … at least not good ones. The mezcal is also awesome and I love a good mole … I’ve still never found one as good as an ex girlfriend’s mom once made me 😅 but what I had in Oaxaca came pretty close

haha I remember going to Mexican restaurants as a kid in Texas and thinking it was a fancy place if they served food in a molcajete 😅 they’re pretty common in Mexico… this is bar food at a place in Coyoacan

I’m over twenty years deep. I had a friend who was always my go-to for technical problems with my windows laptop. He ended up becoming a technical support guy for windows shops. anyways, he mentioned Linux one day as I was babbling about file sharing during the Napster days. I went down the rabbit hole from there. I’ve been called a systems administrator, server administrator, systems engineer, DevOps engineer, etc as job titles. it clicked in my head how or why it worked and it felt liberating. I’m the grumpy guy scowling trying to figure out how your windows or Mac operating systems work like how normal people are trying to figure out how mine works.
