I’m going to live a long time in the memories of my children and grandchildren, hopefully greatgrandchildren. Being a grandparent has been pretty rewarding.

AOL, in a chat room, about 22 years ago.
A bit of dementia.
Ideas never finish evolving, and in a grand sense nothing finishes evolving, unless you consider extinction to be the conclusion of an evolution. Nature goes on, the universe continues, there is no end point where things have reached a perfect evolution.
So, do the Germans have an equivalent to the old washroom toilet stall poem that goes:
Here I sit all broken hearted
Paid a dime and only farted
Having to pay a dime to use the toilet in a store.
My parents were busy trying to control my fucked up sisters children, with my dad dumping as much responsibilty for child rearing as possible on my mom, and my mom passively aggressively resenting it. Same way me and my sister were raised. My family’s a mess.
Ilia, returning to study the carbon units. I thought that was the coolest thing when I was young.
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
'Til I get to the bottom and I see you again
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ha-ha-ha!
What isn’t working? It’s a little different than the phone app, but it works for me.
I use KDE Connect as a media remote and to transfer files between my phone and computers. It has quite a few other functions, like remote mouse control, sms, seems to share clipboards as well.
A touch of narcissistic psychopathy, lack of empathy.
I think it depends on the definition of own, if it can be sold to someone else who will then own it. If it doesn’t have value like that, then it is just something you have, like pocket lint.
So, no to introspection? Wundt-ering around your own mind?
Edit: The giant Grof was hit in one eye by a stone, and that eye turned inward so that it looked into his mind, and he died of what he saw there. -Cyrin
I get that too, it can be difficult to get help. I try to ignore it and have been using Linux for about 15 years as an OS. I use Kubuntu on my laptop, but I’ve used Mint also. I’m thinking of changing back but it’s so much work, and there are a lot of other options I’d like to try.
I’ve had my network locked out as well, the first iteration of ProtonVPN I used would lock it out if you didn’t close the app before shutting down. I contacted Proton and they sent me the commands to unlock it, so I have them handy in a file. That problem was fixed, afaik, because I can shut down without exiting the app now. I haven’t had my comp suspend, Linux used to have a problem with suspend so I’ve stayed away from it. I haven’t had any problems with Proton otherwise, I used it on my Android as well, I have a paid plan.
I use it on my Linux laptop, there’s no port forwarding, dowloading works fine though, sometimes connects to peers to upload. I have dual boot so I have seen the Windows version, it’s much more sophisticated. I’ve checked for DNS leaks using one of the sites listed in another comment, no leaks.
I’m on SDF also, been having the same problem.
I don’t know why I don’t have ad problems and errors like I’ve been reading for a while now. My laptop has Kubuntu with Proton vpn set to block ads, and just bare bones Brave with ad blocking set to whatever max in the settings. My phone is Android with FF and uBlock, and also Proton vpn. I haven’t been blocked or seen an ad, although I don’t use YouTube very much. If I open YT links on my phone, is there acutually ads there that I’m not seeing? I can open YT in FF and just get a home page, play a video uniterrupted. Lately tho, if I wanted to look up something specific I just used piped.video, but I was frustrated by a java error on piped for a bit, so thats when I started using just YT again, and like I said, I have’t seen any ads. I’m using piped again now.
Also Diaspora.
