Well, I’m buying a house in this hellscape market, so this will likely be the last personal trip for a while outside of anything for work. 😅

I’m trying to get a trip to India done, though, for work, but Romania and Dubai may also be work options.

This was only my second international trip. I travel on average about once a year for work though and occasionally see family in New York and Atlanta areas.

I am in love with jollof rice!! I feel like that’s all I ever want to eat for the rest of my life! Haha!

About 20 years ago, my grandmother built a house in Ghana near Cape Coast as a sort of legacy for her children, grands, and great-grands. It’s been on the list to visit while she was still here and also while my dad was still here, so this has been a very emotional journey. My grandmother used to spend about 9 months out of the year in travelling particularly in Africa because she always felt that it was our “true” home.

My aunt goes every other year, and I finally had the time and the means to go. It was a very fulfilling trip because this was our family home, and I was with some of my cousins, too. A week is a short time, but there is so much to see and to do, that even 3 months wouldn’t be enough time. I got a wealth of experiences though even in this short time, and now I can plan better for the next time I come here. ☺️

I’m sitting in the airport lounge in Accra after spending a week here in Ghana.

I’ve taken so many pictures and I think this has been a life-changing journey. Before this, I used to write daily, but whether from aging or just fading desires, I’d all but stopped writing anything in the last few years. This trip has renewed my fervor for writing again, so I’m just excited to pursue my lifelong hobby writing just because I can once again.

I can’t recall offhand. What I will say, though, is that your PS4 is not designed to be a streaming device. It can utilize streaming apps, but that is not its purpose or focus. The apps available on its platform will always be a step behind those for dedicated streaming devices such as Firestick, Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV, or specific streaming apps on a smart TV.

If you are concerned about data harvesting, you should migrate away from Plex and onto something open source like Jellyfin overall. Once Plex closed their code and pushed towards monetization, they began harvesting data just like any other streaming service. That said, there is no Jellyfin app on PS4, but it is fully accessible through the PS4. Again, however, your PS4 is not really meant to be your all-encompassing streaming platform. A Roku or Firestick is very cheap, it is designed to only stream apps, both of Jellyfin, and Plex if you need to continue on that path, and will provide a far better viewing experience than a PS4.

Dude…what’s your CashApp? A Firestick costs like $20.

All 3 Mass Effect games!

Mass Effect 1 at #49?? List is utter trash.

And, no, I do not believe that my creation of a “show” made from editing my full ME1 gameplay has biased me at all. 😤

Also, I think that this (and most Best X of All Time lists) would be better served by breaking things down to eras, rather than trying to rank “of All Time”.

The majority of the first 15 entries on this list are PC-only that require some difficulty to acquire let alone get playing well on modern machines. This isn’t a list where a younger gamer could just jump and start playing through the titles, from both the age of the graphics and the mechanics of the older titles to simply getting these games playing through something like Steam or GoG. Even playing Baldur’s Gate through its Xbox remaster has been hard for me because it just takes a completely different gaming strategy to play a game that old.

Breaking this list into like 90 to early 00s, mid-00s to mid-2010s, and mid-2010 to 2020+ would differentiate this list and introduce gamers to more relevant games.

I’ve finished 3 games I think across Civ 4-6. Two were military victories and then one I tried to get one of the social victories, but then kept losing so I just built up my military and took over the world again.

Several thousand hours later, I’m still waiting to finish another. It’ll happen soon; just one more turn…

ADHD usually means that I’ll stop mid-word and want to read something else. If I have all my books in one place, I can still sit in my comfy chair and switch, instead of wasting further hours perusing my library and getting lost in memories of acquiring each book.

Completely agree. I played the beta for about an hour and I liked it, though it is definitely lacking some polish right now.

A few more imaginative maps and ditching some of the more annoying character lines would go a long way to helping me fully “switch” from Overwatch. I also like that they put the lore right there for you, whereas OW makes you go hunt for it.

How does this app work given the API costs? How does it manage to not deliver ads?

I ask because, while I’ve currently embargoed myself from Reddit, I’d like to have some details noted so I don’t fall in love with this and then get hurt again.
