Game consoles never used to have those features either. 😉 That’s the trick, you need a set that supports modern console features.
HDR management being a good one. The game developers encoded HDR to make a game look a specific way, you don’t want a set that either over-rides it and does it’s own, similarly you don’t want a dumb set that doesn’t support HDR.
All that BS is more beneficial to gaming than a generic TV, especially if your focus is low lag.
It varies model to model and year to year, but in general you want a television with either a “Game” mode or “ALLM” (Auto Low Latency Mode).

Me, waking up in the hospital, fiddling around on my phone. Nurse comes in.
“Hey, were you asleep about an hour ago?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Your heart stopped for 8 seconds.”
“Um… ‘thank you’? I don’t know the correct response to ‘your heart stopped’. Wait, shouldn’t the alarms have gone off? I don’t remember hearing anything.”
“Oh, they go off at the nurses station.”
51·5 days agoOh, it absolutely is, AND they have many times the population of lemmy, AND they vote, AND they are largely misinformed.
We have an election here on Tuesday, there is only one thing to vote on, a property tax measure to support the local parks.
OMG the amount of bad information floating around on this!
You can deprogram some people, but getting people to understand that they are being lied to when they spout nonsense like “ZOMG! Property taxes going up 75%!!!” is a tall hill to climb.
If the goal is “reviving democracy”, you need to go where the people are and that’s not the Fediverse.
That means sticking your toe in the local Facebook/Next Door and that can be problematic for a whole host of other reasons.
Babylon 5, season 1, is largely skippable.
2 and 3 are very good. 4 is the single best season of sci-fi television ever done.
Ideally, you watch it all in order.
In a pinch? 2-3-4-1-5.

One of our biggest bookstores contracted with a local artist for some merch. That artist used AI with predictable results. Now everyone involved is getting raked over the coals for it.
