Burner phone … leave your main one at home … ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BRING YOUR MAIN PHONE

Set up your burner phone with one or two accounts to things you might want to upload to … encrypt as much as you can. Do not load all your social accounts … only log into the bare minimum. If you are organized, log into temporary or fake or secondary accounts if you can.

Start the day without any prior history, photos or content on the phone and keep as few contacts as you can … memorize numbers that are important to you.

Always be prepared to give up or lose your phone.

And as always … SAFETY GLASSES … bring a pair of industry rated CSA approved safety glasses (try to get a pair with a tint so you can pass them as sunglasses). Look for safety glasses with anything marked ANSI Z87+, sometimes written Z87.1+ (note the plus) rated or CSA Z94.3 rated are ensured to safely withstand a direct high energy strike.

Bring a small new blank paper note book you can keep in a pocket with a small pen or pencil … you might be taking notes like license plates, name tags or names of people or places … its always faster to just write something down than in taking a shaky photo or tapping away a note on an app

Wear a big scarf … for guys or girls … a scarf comes in handy for all kinds of emergencies including using it as something to cover your mouth, dress a wound, tie something or cover something up.

Wear a good pair of running shoes … be prepared to run and be on your feet all day.

Bring a small backpack and bring a couple bottles of water and some energy bars … keep it light because you’ll be on your feet all day and if things go bad, you might be targeted if you have a large pack … plus an empty pack can be used to carry things later if you need to.

Dress for the weather … if its going to be hot, wear light clothing but if things go bad and you have to stay out over night or longer, bring a light jacket … if rain is forecast within a day or two, bring a small poncho

I think it’s even sadder than that … a rich elite who believe they are raising more intelligent children but are in fact just raising slightly smarter kids that are one step brighter than an entire population of completely stupid people.

Money and wealth doesn’t make you intelligent … because often what happens is the wealthy get to the point of just buying or purchasing the credentials and diplomas like they do houses or cars because they see them as titles rather than academic achievements.

The funny part that is … which book are you talking about? … Christian bible? Jewish Tanakh? Islamic Koran? … and if its Christian - is it just the Old Testament? New Testament? … which version of the Christian bible? - King James? New Standard? English Standard? Anglican? Baptist? Lutheran? Methodist? Presbyterian? Roman Catholic? Mormon? Protestant?

Religious Texts: … that text was written by some half literate guy living in a desert who heard tenth hand folk stories from his community from people who had died about a hundred years before his time, mixed in with legends, myths and fairy tales that are thousands of years old … but it’s all true because it came from God, believe it or you will burn in hell forever.

Nuke and atomic technology was one thing … and the Americans basically had that in their pocket regardless if they had Nazi scientists or not

The big leap that the Americans made with Nazi scientists was to pair atomic technology with ballistic missile technology.

When you just have a bomb and you need a big slow moving aircraft to deliver the bomb, then it is almost useless as there are plenty of ways to take down a jet in mid flight before it even reaches a target.

The unholy match that humanity came up with was to pair nuclear weapons with missile technology … which created a weapon that is nearly unstoppable and completely dangerous for all of humanity.

Agreed … but in order for the US to push through their rocket program, they needed scientists and researchers to develop, test, build, test, retest, and test some more all of the applied science that had been developed. The country needed to build an entire community of thousands of professionally trained technicians, scientists, engineers, professionals … and with them had to come teams of administrators, academics, trainers, bureaucrats, office workers … and with all of them had to come entire groups of trained builders, workers, electricians, plumbers, draftsmen, planners and all the people that came with … and all that had to be supported by an industry that needed to build and develop all the things that had to be needed to get this monolith moving, which meant that all these corporations and businesses needed their own teams of professionally trained people.

It was a massive investment in education in order to get the ball rolling in industry to build the rocket program. It wasn’t just building rockets … it was building an entire industry upon industry upon industry to get to the point of building a single rocket that could launch anything into orbit.

The reason why any of it happened was that the government heavily invested in educating and training an entire population to make it all possible.

I never downvote people on Lemmy but I did for this one … I just spent the past month going through some invoicing and paper receipts and it is absolutely infuriating to still see some businesses using MM-DD-YY while others insist on DD-MM-YY and some businesses have invoicing and receipt printers that use one or the other but not the same. It’s not a big deal if you are dealing with documents that are a month or two old because you can guess from what time period they come from … but it is absolutely confusing if documents get older than that.
