Except it maybe will happen like in Don’t Look Up
Except it maybe will happen like in Don’t Look Up
But it’s not entirely sequential
Kinda sad neither the article nor comments here mention https://ask.metafilter.com/

Not just at CD Projekt. This is a trade union!
This is brother and sister Yeti and Sassy (short for Sasquatch). Yeti has only one eye.
And confirmed! https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/26/23891835/wga-contract-summary-ai-streaming-data
Now, studios will have to provide the WGA with actual data. Specifically “the total number of hours streamed, both domestically and internationally, of self-produced high-budget streaming programs.” That means Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon, and the other streamers won’t be able to invent weird metrics or meaningless self-referential rankings to give to the WGA.
This from https://deadline.com/2023/09/wga-strike-officially-end-leaders-approve-tentative-deal-1235556919/ looks promising:
“The Companies agree to provide the Guild, subject to a confidentiality agreement, the total number of hours streamed, both domestically and internationally, of self-produced high budget streaming programs (e.g., a Netflix original series),” the WGA added.
Any news on whether streaming services will have to release view numbers? Still seems like that would be a must for calculating residuals.
What a little goblin! I love it
Same. And I fixed the 720p with a resistor kit a few years ago when it fritzed out. Some terminal fonts look great on those chunky pixels.
Project Zomboid is less narrative than what you’re looking for, I think, but when you start again in the same world you can find your previous character as a zombie.

This seems like such a self-inflicted disaster for HashiCorp. I’m really wondering how they’ll respond.
Really does look like a tempting deal. Also covered here https://www.theverge.com/2023/8/8/23824739/valve-steam-deck-certified-refurbished-price-listings
I’m an infrastructure engineer working at a government contractor and I’m in a union with OPEIU 1010, the tech workers’ local. Others are unionizing independently, with CWA, etc… It’s still early days for the tech industry but there are examples. We’re really not that different from other industries with a larger union presence.
