DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•Just got a new unlocked Samsung 25 Ultra and it's filled with bloatware you're not allowed to uninstall. I need a hack to uninstall it.English
15·9 months agoIn my experience, the easiest way to get rid of bloatware junk is to use Universal Android Debloater. This gives you a GUI/wizard to execute the ADB commands. Here is an introduction (in German): Google-Apps und weitere Bloatware loswerden mit dem “Universal Android Debloater Next Generation”
Yes, this is Loops: “Loops is a short video sharing platform.”.
However, if I am correctly informed, the planned federation with the Fediverse has still not been realised.
Why " with no required registration"? Where can you simply share videos without any account?

Fediverse@lemmy.world•FediDB Onboarding 🚀 : "Introducing Welcome, a new fediverse onboarding experience powered by FediDB."English
24·1 year agoIf you select ‘Forum Discussions’ under ‘What type of content do you want to see or share?’, NodeBB, Lemmy, mbin, Piefed and Lotide are then recommended. That fits well.

But if you select ‘Social Media Post + ’Forum Discussions", Mastodon, Misskey and other microblogging services are recommended, as well as Lemmy. But not mbin, which actually offers exactly this combination, and also not Friendica, which can do micro-/macroblogging, but also offers forums/groups and federates best with both directions.
So it’s perhaps a little under-complex, but nicely done and a good new contact point for interested people.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Did you know? Lemmy instances with *key instances!English
6·1 year agoIs this like Tumblr or something?
I think Misskey and its forks are among the Fediverse services that are not modelled on a specific commercial platform, but have created something completely their own.
The forks differ in details (see comparison), but the user experience is relatively similar.
Hubzilla (macroblogging service in the Fediverse) can also be used to create and collaborate on wikis.
I can only find a German-language manual for this right away: https://help.hubzilla.hu/benutzerhandbuch/wikis.html
Open Library is one of the main data sources for Bookwyrm’s book data. Bookwyrm is an application in Fediverse that can be used to find and write reviews of books. I wouldn’t see that as a contradiction.

“Also I’ve started a Friendica manual at https://help.friendica.onl but it needs to get content.”
Maybe you may translate some content from this guide: https://friendica-hilfe.gitbook.io/friendica-hilfe ?
Most of the functions should be instance-independent (although loma.ml has activated many add-ons)
The article in the JoinFediverseWiki is very short. It could be expanded a little. I used to have an editor account for the wiki, maybe I’ll find the time to reactivate it.
Thank you, yes, I didn’t read carefully enough. But there is hope for Hypatia!
If I understand correctly, Hypatia will continue with a new maintainer and is now in the Izzy repo
Everything is better ;-)
i.e. mailbox.org, posteo.de; there are also protonmail and tuta.com, but they don’t have IMAP
The mastodon apps work, but generally only offer the mastodon functions. Fedilab may offer a little more.
There is also Dhaaga: A "client for various social networking platforms and protocols.
🩵 Bluesky 💙 Mastodon 💚 Misskey 💛 Pleroma 🩷 Sharkey 🧡 Cherrypick 💜 Akkoma"
edit: sorry, forgot to read that you are looking for iOs
There is already a more up-to-date version of the second graphic (including mbin and loops):

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Which FOSS options do you recommend for online surveys?English
5·1 year agoCryptpad Forms or Framaforms are good for simple surveys. For more complex surveys there is Limesurvey.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•How should I be accessing the fediverse to get the most "federated" experienceEnglish
3·1 year agoYes, Lemmy accounts can only follow/subscribe to groups (besides Lemmy also mbin, piefed + also Peertube), but not individual accounts. A Lemmy account can only communicate with individual accounts if they write something in a community. That is one of the aims of mbin, to connect them: The structure of communities /magazines + a microblog feed.

6·1 year agoYes, Sharkey is a microblogging service and it can’t create headings, but it still displays them correctly. Among other things, this is better than with Mastodon.

14·1 year agoOk, with all pictures in replies it doesn’t work yet or only in the other direction: This Lemmy thread seen from Friendica + Mastodon

Friendica shows all pictures of Lemmy, both in posts and in replies. The other way round only in OP.

(Almost) all services (except Mastodon) have had quote posts for years/decades.
(Sharkey, Misskey, Friendica, Hubzilla, Pleroma, Akkoma, etc.)
