Technology@lemmy.world•Europe built sovereign clouds to escape US control. Then forgot about the processorsEnglish
4·1 day agoI don’t think you understand just how difficult that would be. The reason Taiwan has become such a hotly contested area between China and literally the rest of the world is because they have built up the infrastructure to produce processors and memory. Which includes huge clean rooms to prevent contamination by the air we’ve so completely polluted since the beginning of the industrial revolution.

Technology@lemmy.world•Louis Rossmann taunts Bambu Lab by hosting banned 3D Printer firmware fork, dares $1 billion company to sue him — more creators pledge support and boycotts, Snapmaker donates equipment to embattled deEnglish
4·4 days agoFighting a cease and desist takes money. Lots of it. Especially when the company you’re fighting is making billions of dollars on their product. And the guy who created the fork doesn’t have that kind of dough. So he opted to not fight it.
Therefore it is left up to others fight those battles.
Dogs have had all independence bred out of them long long long ago. They are genetically subservient to humanity.
So, no. The dog is dreaming of bouncing balls, the incredibly mean cat who won’t play fair, and that squirrel in the tree who keeps getting away.

181·6 days agoKnowledgeable and smart are not the same thing. These two are very knowledgeable about the systems they worked on and database manipulation, believe it or not these are not hard skills to learn. But they were incredibly dumb regardless given every single action they took at every point in their lives.

3·10 days agoPOV porn exists, you could just actually work out an agreement with a strip club to basically rent it out to do a shoot one day, if you wanted to end up with pretty much the same kind of video, except everyone involved actually signed up for it.
But that’s kind of the point. They want people who didn’t “sign up for it”. That’s part of the allure for these people. And for the viewer side as well. I have literally watched people angrily debate that a video depicting such things was “faked” and that counted as a negative for the people who watch those. I honestly don’t get what the difference is between a person who’s getting a paycheck and somebody who’s being stalked and fucked with for somebody who’s watching that sort of content. But sadly they exist in far too large numbers.

Technology@lemmy.world•Extortion Using Smart Glasses Is a Thing NowEnglish
6·10 days agoThat’s because it’s not about the nudity or the sexual gratification. It’s about humiliating another person. It gives certain people a sense of power and they find that euphoric. And for those who watch these videos, well voyeurism is a thing.

151·17 days agoWow, that guy is an absolute putz. Like, postmarketOS literally tells you that their shit is not ready for prime time and to be ready for it to be a little bit wonky right now. And this guy is acting like they’re advertising it as it is ready for Freddy and it’s just garbage or something. Not to mention the way he installed it was just stupid. My 8-year-old niece could do this better than he did.
I think I’ll find a video made by somebody more competent.
That means that Rotten Tomatoes rating system even shittier than I had thought it was.
