When I’m on the toilet, I use a client app on my phone, but when I’m at my desk, I use my desktop and the web ui. Why would I use an app there?

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•OpenAI's Codex app has 70% GPU usage while it is “thinking” due to tiny useless animation
7·27 days agoWrong. If more processing power is used for displaying the spinner, then the actual task will take longer, thus the spinner will be displayed for a longer time, so the spinner becomes even more useful.

while(working) { chatgpt.prompt("Please generate an image similar to the current spinner image, but rotated a slight bit more to the right."); }Their fix will probably be, adding “Give a quick answer, don’t think too hard” to the prompt.

No, the thing I mean is much worse. I don’t dare saying it’s name, but it’s a social network by **rk *uckerber*
A worthy replacement for the tiramisu pizza

I don’t think anyone will suffer if they don’t see this (mildly interesting) post because they have chosen to hide nsfw content. I think anyone who decides to hide nsfw stuff has only themselves to blame if they miss the most interesting stuff.
I find this “don’t censor obscenities here, whe’re not on F*c*book” mentality just as annoying as the censoring itself. If you don’t like the way someone is writing, don’t read it. There are millions of other posts for you.

2·2 months agorecurring events like weddings
I think you got the concept of weddings wrong. It’s “Till death do us part” and not “Until I crave a smoke”.
I’m the hatman. Scibi dibi dib yo dadad dup.

Is that him?
A solar conjunction of mars happens every 26 month and takes about two weeks. That’s the perfect time to install Windows updates and reboot the system. At least that feels as if it also takes two weeks.
The devil helping you figure out what you are capable of and what not is quite on point.
The devil whispered in my ear: “You are not strong enough to withstand the storm.”
So I built a shelter that was able to withstand the storm and survived. Thanks for the heads up, devil. My neighbour didn’t listen to the devil and rather prayed to god when the storm arrived. He got knocked out by a flying tree.
Parasites that are killed when you prepare the fish correctly and thus are harmless. The alternative is to eat farmed salmon that is full of medicine and antibiotics to contain the parasites. You have to pick your poison. Or you could of course choose to not eat salmon instead.

2·3 months agoSoaking the oats in cold water or milk over night helps your body to get some of the valuable ingredients. It’s probably a good idea to put them in the fridge overnight so the milk doesn’t go bad. But it’s no problem to heat the soaked oats in the microwave in the morning if you prefer them hot.
If you forgot to soak the oats over night, you can also let them soak in hot water for 30 minutes for a similar effect.
Or you can just eat them unsoaked. They might be a bit less healthy, but after all, they’re still a healthy food.
If the room with the dead bodies is for employees only, that would imply that the deceased ones are also employees.
I wouldn’t say >!Anvil!< is European or >!Squaring the circle!< is Greek, just because it was first described in ancient Greece. You wouldn’t call “city” an Iraqi concept just because the first city was in the same region as modern day Iraq.
The two American books on the other hand are not very well know around the world. I’m not even sure if they have ever been released here in Germany for example. Unlike the Dostojewski book, that got international recognition and has been translated at least 12 times into German. That didn’t help me to guess it, though. I’m just not very well read.
Don’t forget the absurdly big and fuel-hungry cars.
Next year, a few days before the first of may, googe or duckduckgo “1. May protest $nearestBiggerCity” and you’ll find out. If you’re from the US, you’ll probably find this site among the first search results. If you’re from anywhere else you’ll find something similar for your region.
