Isn’t this the women that conservatives tried to say was so attractive that her success was somehow anti-woke?

Anyone remember when Chrome had that issue with validating nested URL-encoded characters? Anyone for John%%80%80 Doe?
These are actually two slightly different options. Mouse sensitivity is how far the cursor or camera moves based on how far the mouse moves. More sensitivity means that the camera moves more if you move the mouse the same distance.
Mouse acceleration tracks how fast the mouse moves over that distance and extends the amount the camera or cursor moves if it moves faster or decreases it if it moves slower. In some cases this can feel more natural, but in others it can make it harder to be both fast and precise in your movements, since moving faster can make you overshoot compared to making the same movement more slowly.
I didn’t say anything about voting, I’m just trying to be realistic about who else is looking forward to the collapse of the current system. If you want to roll the dice on that then you should at least be honest about who else is sitting at the table.
So the neocons of the 2000s are the C’tan, providing neoliberals with unending life by running against fascists and also necrosteel bodies but at the cost of their souls. One day we will overthrow the gods and place their shards into our doomsday weapons.
Hey now, let’s be fair. It’s not just ashes, it’s also going to be blood. And between 2 and 3 of the 4 cats are literal Nazis.
Right, because the alternative somehow isn’t “genocide, but also you lose even more of what little power you still have over this supposed democracy.”
Even if this election doesn’t let us end the genocide, one option is actively threatening to use military force against political dissidents, which tends to make it even harder to push for a change in foreign policy.
Damn, I can’t wait to hear about all the things you’re doing to try and actually end the abominable genocide against the people of Palestine. Meanwhile the rest of us are looking for ways to do that and also voting against the guy who promised to double-down and bring the violence home against immigrants.
Pretending Trump’s presidency wouldn’t be objectively worse for all the causes leftists care about, even the ones (like Palestine) Harris isn’t going to do shit about isn’t taking a principled stand. It’s hiding from what little power you have in the electoral system in order to keep whatever happens next off your conscience. And frankly, the Palestinians don’t care about your conscience any more than the Hispanic Americans or trans kids.
So when Ukrainians try to push for closer alignment with the EU it’s a Washington-backed color revolution and thus is no different than Russia rolling into the literal tanks.
Like, even if you’re not a Russian troll you’re still adopting a conspiracy theory that completely ignores any agency the Ukrainian people have.
Actually it’s vitally important if you’re going to have an outdoor catgirl. Otherwise they’ll decimate the local birdgirl population.
Obligatory plug for calcgpt
I feel like in a lot of cases the context is also sometimes important to differentiate between a real-life idiot and someone who is “Just Asking Questions.”
The trite disclaimer is one thing, but explaining how you came to the specific question you’re asking helps me trust that it’s worth giving you an actual explanation rather than the dismissal that some folks want so they can post it on wherever the new home is for “so much for the tolerant left” bullshit.
Possibly fair. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that exact screenshot used in other articles about Doom, but I’m not enough of a Doom nerd to be sure.
There’s a decent writeup over at Pivot-to-AI that looks at the paper as a whole in more detail.
Note that the image here isn’t from the AI project, it’s from actual Doom. Their own screenshots have weird glitches including a hit splat that looks like a butt in the image I’ve seen closest to this one.
And when they say they’ve “run the game” they do not mean that there was a playable version that was publicly compared to the original. Rather they released short video clips of alleged gameplay and had their evaluators try to identify if they were from the AI recreation or from actual Doom.
Even by the abysmal standards of generative AI projects this is a hell of a grift.
Actually one of the few political pressures Putin has had to deal with internally has been preventing conscripts from fighting outside of Russian territory, which has included not sending them into the supposedly-annexed oblasts in the east. They’ve had to make do with massive signing bonuses, prison recruitment, stop loss, and PMCs to make up the manpower shortage. Definitely some high-pressure tactics in use, but no actual use of legal force. Unless this video was taken on the Kursk front then any Russian soldiers who this was targeting had signed contracts that they could have chosen not to.
Speaking as the father of a 4-year-old girl, there definitely is. Not that I disagree in principle, but it’s probably a bad example.
Would you believe that there’s a racist element to this as well?
Absolutely, and her record in those roles imo actually suggests at least some awareness of the kinds of problems that need to be solved there, though I’m sufficiently cynical about things that I would be surprised to see significant action on federal reforms. I’m cautiously optimistic about her, but my point is that even if you don’t think she’s any different from a rank-and-file Republican that would still make it irresponsible not to vote against Trump and the very specific plans he and the people around him have to make all of those problems even worse.
There is definitely room to push the Overton window farther left and (federal) electoral politics does not give an avenue to do that as long as the Republican party continues to drift further right. But the way to do that does not involve abandoning powerful federal offices like the goddamned presidency to right-wing loons.
What exactly do you think the alternative is here? Not voting just surrenders what little power the electoral process does give you. Even if electoral politics aren’t a meaningful way to advance your vision of a better country, this is still an opportunity, however small, to reduce the harm that will be done under a Trump presidency. Like, even if you don’t expect Harris to meaningfully improve things (and there are a lot of areas where a former cop probably shouldn’t be expected to), the alternative is someone who continues to actively promise to make those same areas even worse.
I mean a lot of the services that companies are using are cloud-hosted, meaning that especially if you have branch offices or a lot of remote workers a normal firewall in the datacenter introduces an unnecessary bottleneck. Putting the logical edge of your organization’s network in the cloud too makes sense from a performance perspective in that case, and then turning the actual firewalls into SaaS seems much less absurd.
