Of course, that’s not the most recent remake of Myst. The current one is called, er, ‘Myst’.
Sigh. Looking forward to Riven. Again.

To be fair, Gearbox was always a pretty crap deal for whoever was buying it because 2K owns the publishing rights to Borderlands in perpetuity. It would not surprise me if they end up under 2K, and that they end up costing 2K a lot less than they cost Embracer.
The problem with Watch Dogs Legion is that all of the player characters are all procedurally generated, so while there’s plenty of plot, it’s pretty threadbare as a story.
Eat the rich in Minecraft
Well it’s Xbox Wire, so it’s PR rather than any actual critical evaluation.
And we all know how well Xbox PR has been doing lately.
Minecraft has some pretty comprehensive version control, so you should be able to install old versions pretty easily.
Heck, Lower Decks already did it with Boimler, with the status quo being back to normal after two episodes of fun B-plots on the Titan.
My suspicion is that the game would have been delayed had the new Harebrained Schemes game not just flopped.
The plan is to finalise today (as reported by The Verge), but Activision anticipates putting games on Game Pass over the course of 2024.
Personally? I’d expect something before Christmas. Got to push those end-of-year console sales after all.
Heck, even before you take into account differing xenobiologies, this has precedent on earth; different cultures are often unused to how other cultures smell.
The choice of Bynars as the latest victims was clever; if you’re going to remind everyone what’s going on with mysterious ship, but need to get through the entire sequence as quickly as possible, go with the species that transfer information at the quickest rate!
Good call!
Quality, no. Reception, yes. These two things aren’t necessarily the same.
Give it a few weeks and it’ll be $7.99. Maybe even $5.99 depending on how many sales they got last time it hit $7.99.
They keep it at this price because it allows them to advertise an ‘80% discount’ several times a year, which gives them better visibility in the sales.
Which is a wholly different level of suck. But hey, ho.
I have no objection to this.
Honestly, whilst it would be nice for the mysterious ship of destruction to actually reach the central plot someone soon, I’m enjoying the little snapshots into lower deck life on other ships. It’s a shame it always inevitably ends with vaporisation.
The kind of folks who read about savvy cost-saving methods on internet forums are always a vocal minority. The vast majority of users are always going to have signed up directly through the console, rather than faffing about with coupons and cheeky multi-step methods. Partially because it’s far more convenient to just set up a monthly auto-pay, and partly because not everyone has the disposable income to pay for multiple years up front, even though it would save them money down the line.
And I’m saying this as someone who uses a combination of MS Rewards, Nectar Points, a staff discount on digital coupons, ‘cashback’ rebates, and money or gift cards from answering surveys to fund my Xbox habit.
I’d argue that Odo fits the traditional role more directly, as his confused and sometimes disdainful fascination with solids has a similarly cold and analytical approach to that of Spock and Data. But then, Quark and Odo are essentially two sides of the same coin.
Thing is, Sony aren’t even putting out that many bangers. Certainly not by the standards of last generation.
But that’s the problem. Last generation was pivotal for the switch from physical media to digital, which means that anyone buying a new system is going to buy an updated version of their last gen system. Which was a PS4, because Microsoft completely fucked it last generation. Even with this gen’s disappointing games, baffling lack of focus, poor messaging, and bizarre management decisions, they’d probably be in a much stronger position if they’d made a product that people actually wanted to buy last generation, because more folks would already be invested in the ecosystem.
