That is not legal. They have made embryos children when looking for people to put in jail, and not children when looking to give out benefits. Very convenient for the state budget!

No the religious zealots here do not. School coaches require prayer before practices and games, same sex couples get banned from prom, kids at school get tricked into going to fun after school events that turn out to actually be evangelism stunts. A lot of applications to educational programs, gymnastics programs, and jobs ask about “leadership” which is code for experience as a church deacon or active evangelist.
We almost got this with Alabama 2023 bill HB182 which would grant unborn children as dependents on taxes. The bill didn’t pass. These people want children to count only when dolling out punishments.
We here in bama have been preferring the term Talibama.
Sure, cool. Make health insurance cover my IVF then.
So? Please go find something productive to do.
In order to avoid obnoxious replies, I intentionally chose not to name the particular country I had in mind. The point still stands – there are going to be people in the workplace from cultures with more misogyny than others. And the culture they grew up in will have had an effect on their attitudes.
You have no idea that some cultures prefer women barefoot, pregnant, and cleaning their house rather than in the workplace? You have no idea that many cultures are not used to having female bosses over male workers?
I think the answer to that should be obvious, and you are only asking so you can argue and call me racist. So I will not engage.
I work a tech job at a corporate company that isn’t a tech company. 9/10 males have been delightful. They have hired women as head of IT twice in a row now. But there was one coworker who immediately assumed and acted like I knew nothing. He may do that to everyone though to seem smarter and superior… very ambitious guy. I also suspected it may have also been influenced by the non-US culture he grew up in.
Even before this I would get really pissed when people casually said “It will happen when the time is right. God has a plan, though it isn’t one we understand.” In Alabama I was recently at the dentist, getting my teeth cleaned to the tune of religious music, hearing the hygienist say this bullshit to me.
