I swear the move to replace the GNU ecosystem with Rust tooling has more to do with a corporate EEE push to remove all libre licensing than with memory safety or anything else.
Nailed it here, imo

Apologies, as a non-campist myself I should probably avoid posting on .ml boards. Because this is a .ml channel I read your OP as genuinely asking if people thought reading non-marxist takes and perspectives would be worth your time as a shortcut to you yourself deciding if they were worth your time. I was trying to say “Yes” without saying that in order to understand the strengths and weaknesses of Marxist doctrine (and vice versa) you should absolutely read outside the tankie cannon. When you responded with great examples of why one might read them even if they are the sincerest of tankies confused me, as they are basically a great response to how I originally read your OP.

Sounds like you already know the answer to your question, then

Let me just put it this way: you can’t critique what you haven’t read

That’s something that’s usually advertised by the establishment. I know that e.g. in St Louis both Rooster and Mike’s Local Eats source their ingredients from local as much as possible

Have you checked out Framework? They build laptops aiming to be as repairable as desktop PCs and have become a favorite of linux users (myself included)
EDIT: apologies for not seeing the Framework note at the end of the OP (thanks for pointing that out @digdilem@lemmy.ml)

It’s a meme, not a sincere religious appeal: My Brother In Christ | Know Your Meme. In any case, even if it were sincere, the actual substance of the reply was what came after, which was about Linux (not Unix) anyway and would not have amounted to anything more than a personal idiosyncrasy at worst

Given that
This seems to be a result about bias, namely that readers are generally biased against AI. I see nothing in this that would warrant saying AI generated stories are better

I imagine “resistance training” is a better phrase for what the commenter was saying. Lifting your body weight is lifting weights
Yeah, I tried to go to their wiki the main repo’s readme links to but it won’t load for me

The consensus in the West that Israel is an unapologetic fascist ethno-state prosecuting a genocide against Palestinians

Yeah the one included in the article is enough for me
Amazing, came here to basically say the same thing about these two. Thanks kind stranger!

I think subscribing to all of those “sleepy time” AI generated channels would do it for me. They put out a new 2+ hour video a day full of absolute inaccuracies, so not only is it slop but it’s profoundly misinformative slop. But honestly I don’t want you to sub to them, it only encourages them all

You looking for ASCII art or something?

Thank you, came here to say this. People like the phrase “continuity of consciousness” but the problem of persistent identity is much more fundamental than this thought experiment lets on
