I do, but I’m also AuDHD so it’s not really useful information.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•META PCs now sells pre-built PCs with SteamOS preinstalled.English
2·5 days agoMost of us, sure, but we’re not the target market, and it’ll be bulkier, it’ll require more work to set up, it’ll be louder or hotter, it’ll have to be optimised for gaming rather than games being optimised for it - it will trade all of the steam machine’s selling points for raw power.

3·5 days agoIirc there’s a pre built company that offers mint, but I haven’t seen anyone offer a gaming distro.
No, I understand it, but you’re still the guy who’s gatekeeping maths, and your analogy is bad. A better one would be calling mixing vinegar and baking soda chemistry, which despite how basic (and acidic) it is any chemist will. Basic maths is still maths.
Imagine being the guy who gatekeeps maths.

4·7 days agoAs the other user said, get Mint Cinnamon on a USB. I moved to Linux last year (now on Bazzite KDE) and it wasn’t the leap I expected, more just a small shuffle. Everything is roughly where you expect it to be and works how you expect it to, but like actually where you’d expect and working how you expect. Like if Windows 10 had been designed just for usability without corporate interests clogging everything up. The only reason it may take a while to customise to your liking is that you can customise far, far more of it straight out of the box.
I think it’s limited on the cores it runs on or something - mine chugs on big maps with lots of water without going over 30%, which would be 4 cores running at full.

The point isn’t the stress level of the hobby, it’s that you’re expected to drop your hobbies to manage your stress, not your much more stressful job.

12·16 days agoHad you gone as far as the article you would have seen the disclaimer that makes it clear it’s sarcasm.
Yeah, not to disparage his hard work organising beforehand and 2 years in prison (so far), but ultimately all he did was park really badly. At most he should be getting a few points on his license.
Aww man, I got
Constantly working (not into it)
Be gay
Always playing map painting games

I finally managed to break out of 3 months of Angine de Poitrine yesterday. Definitely a record for my musical obsessions.
Maybe someone’s finally solved it over the past few years, but he was telling me that automating apple harvests was still a massive challenge about 5 years ago - there are/were machines to pick up fallen apples and robots for picking them individually, but you can’t easily shake all the apples off a mature tree for collection and a human can pick them from the branch far more quickly than a robot. From what I can see online there’s one that does it for young trees, but most of them are still glorified cherry-pickers.

Not a particularly bad place to stop, I got a few hours in, stopped, then when I picked it back up I realised I’d basically stopped right before the story kicks in and was hooked for the rest.
