Prey used heavy CGI for the wild animals, especially obvious in the scene with the bear.

First viewing I was blown away and thought it might be a top 10 movie for me, but it doesn’t feel so good with repeated viewings (while I still watch the original Predator every couple of years or so)

I enjoyed it, though it was very predictable and the sequel setup wasn’t necessary and induced an eye roll.

Are the first two good?

The script, plot, most of the supporting acting, and directing of certainly the first two Lethal Weapons could have been so much better … I’m going to see how 3 does soon, though the last time I saw that was in a cinema, lol

Even some old stinkers can be fun from time to time. Cat Ballou is objectively not a great film, but I enjoyed it recently … currently working my way through Lethal Weapon (just finished 2), which again is patchy in almost every way!

A change is as good as a rest, as they say.

2 - The 51st State … I don’t think there’s any way to say that’s political. Apart from the first 5 minutes … and the stupid Nazis … and post- credits scene … and some commentary over the industrial decline of the UK … and some other stuff …

Trying to think of a nonpolitical film is nearly impossible :-/

I’m keen to see if Ballerina is going to be a good spin-off, buuut not super on board with another John Wick … the story had a good end, and it would be nice to just leave it on a high.

I recently did a marathon of the four films, and TBH after the first one it really did feel like a marathon. I got up and made drinks during some of the fights and didn’t feel like I’d missed anything.

The part with Halle Berry was good, the final big set piece up the cathedral steps was great, and the final ending excellent, but I don’t think I’m going to re-watch any other part again.
