Thats alot of work, good job!

Not here for self-promotion, just to share some amazing artists/works that i have come across over the decades.

Thats alot of work, good job!
Its possible, but its more likely processing the raw data using a different technique that causes the differences. Cant be sure, but yeah this looks alot better now. I didnt add any noise myself, since i dont know how to/hadnt considered it, when i felt it looked a little flat i just went looking for a better topo map.
So i looked in the blend file, and it seems i changed the texture map to this one at some point: https://wms.lroc.asu.edu/lroc/view_rdr_product/WAC_GLD100_E000N1800_064P
That one was better, and i also recall manually aligning the color map from the other Nasa site i linked before, just used photoshop offset the color map horizontally, sorry i was learning alot and didnt yet have a proper folder structure going, its also likely i made othe changes to the textures but i was moving fast and eager to get back to blender, i could likely send you the blend file along with those texures though, if you let me know an easy way to share it.
Ooh nice, i may have used a higher res texture, or could be more subdivisions, this is very close though!
Didnt do anything specific in that regard, its a just a standard UV sphere with a (2:1) texture map. I did run in to that issue when trying to export (bake) a procedural gas planet texture map, but its pretty trivial to fix the texture map in photoshop afterwards. This is just an entry level project i did to learn the basics of blender, after 25 years of using 3DsMax only. Took a good while to render on my new pc so i thought i should share it before deleting it localy.
A pleasure, be sure to check the artist gallery link, they have a bunch of works there with similar levels of detail.
Oh yeah! Well spotted, gonna have to look this over a third time now to see what else i missed.
Edit: So now ive noticed the Etch-a-sketch, and theres also a telly tubby on one of the screens.
Sure thing, you can edit the titles as much as you need to make them fit or what not since the source will be included anyway.
The best cheaters are already good at what they do -even if the artist is great that doesn’t mean they didn’t use AI-.
You are very correct, sadly we can no longer know for sure even if we were to ask the artist, which really is scary, in this case though the artist seems to check out overall so left this one up, I posted the criteria i use to decide if its AI in another comment if you want a look, but ultimatley there will alway be guess work invlovled.
Appologies if i came across as argumentative, that was not my intention. I rely on the community as a fallback to notice any AI stuff i might miss, since as you know it can be hard to notice, i have already removed a couple of my own submissions due to this. As a personal rule, when im not sure if Its AI in normally do the following:
Check the account age E.g. 2 month old account with lots of high quality posts is normally a giveway its an AI user.
Check the gallery for wildy different styles or subject matters between posts, usually a sign of someone messing with AI.
Look for mentions and examples of software used.
And most importantly look for improvement of art quality over time, since this is more natural.
In this case the artists seems to check out for me, so im inclined to beleive its a legit digital work and will be leaving the post up. I really do appreciate your feedback though, since we have community rule about no AI art, and they do slip by me.
Not AI, see the artists gallery, they dont need to use it.
Did you check the artists gallery before making this comment? They have been painting for at least 12 years, and can do hand sketched as well as digital painting and 3d model work. There is no evidence of the work being AI beyond the look/style, and the artist doesnt seem to need to use it. I think its more likely, the AI style is immitating this work and not the other way around.
Na i double checked, its done with 3d software and photoshop.
Hmm, it must just be the art style imo, i see where your coming from though, i suppose you could ask the artist, but this image has been up on DeviantArt since 2009 if this where racist artist they would have been reported and removed long ago.
So, it looks like the blood (tomato juice) was meant for the actress about to be chainsawed by the clown, but it ended up on the exec instead.

Can you add a source to this image to the description please.
From the description over on DA:
I used mechanical pencil 0.3 (for all hair and some details) and 4B and 6B pencils (for the face).
My hands are hurting just thinking of doing this on a tablet, with an undo button.
Had to double check if this wasnt just a cosplay photo but:
Darlun digidol law rhydd | Free hand digital drawing (no tracing, no filters, no grids)
Very impressive!
Oh thats a tough one, i dont like it but ive seen a major community divided over it before. It comes down to not the art but the size of the furry community, they are more prolific in general, so theres alot more of it, but the genre is not really understood by the general art community, which is comparitivley smaller in terms of posting. So we decided against it here, to keep moderating easy, and since there are likely already other dedicated communities for that anyway. I hope that makes some degree of sense. I dont mind linking a good furry community on the side bar near that rule if you would like to suggest one though.
