That’s the real question, isn’t it? When our employers demand more of our time than we get to spend with our actual families, the take-it-slow life just isn’t a possibility. Unless you’re independently wealthy.

I’ve set up senior citizens with Mint desktops and have yet to have any major issues. Contrary to what many people think, a solid Linux distro like Mint really isn’t all that hard for a newbie to wrap their head around.
Fletcher@lemmy.todayto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Linux gaming for a non-technical person?English201·2 months agoI’ve been using Linux Mint for the last…eight years? I think? Anyway, it’s been great for gaming and if you want a minimum of fussing about, I would just install Steam and use Proton for compatibility. It’s by far the easiest and most tinker-free gaming experience for Linux - at least in my experience. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had to really research and tinker with any annoying issues. protondb.com has been extremely helpful in checking the compatibility of a certain game for Linux and even offers tips and tricks to make the fussier games work.

I never went back and never plan to go back unless this backward state comes to it’s senses.

I think the d100 is so lots of people can add their own entries. :)
ROFLMAO!! It’s so cringe! I absolutely love it!! =)
5 - a cheerfully written letter addressed to the slain party’s significant other, describing in glowing terms how the slain party feels like they have a new lease on life ever since kicking some unnamed and dreadful disease, and how they can’t wait for this last job to end so they can come back home and start being the husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/whateverfriend that they always wanted to be.
It’s pretty much a thankless job 80% of the time - which is why I have to take my joy from the act of creating something and NOT from the approval and appreciation of my players. It’s sad that it has to be like this, but it’s always been this way - at least in my experience.
When someone leaves you a home for nothing when most of the people around you cannot afford one, that is ‘wealth’. If I did not have to worry about rent, healthcare and car payments, that would make me wealthy - because it is the wealthy who do not have these concerns to the same degree as the majority of the population. Generational wealth is also a great way to keep the ‘undesirables’ out of a community - and has been used so multiple times in the past. It’s one of the reasons why people from poor families statistically end up just as, or even more poor than their parents.
