No, just an American, where a health challenge of any kind can potentially bankrupt me, because health care here is a criminally privatized corporate hellscape.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•No degree, no Polish, but I know Linux and homelab. Can I get an entry IT job?
7·3 days agoLots of organizations have a “ooh scary Linux” server or two that they rely on, but failed to retain the talent needed to maintain it. If you’ve been running desktop Linux, and know some basic command line tools, you’re way ahead of most people they will interview for the role.
The downside is that they might feel that they can maybe just keep ignoring their problem for another year, and some will.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Luanti removed from Google Play due to baseless AI copyright noticeEnglish
16·3 days agoThat’s such bullshit.
For anyone affected, don’t wait. Get yourself F-Droid, and you can have Luanti immediately after.
Yes. We do use /s here, as well.
I’m not mad.

This is easily the stupidest thing I’ve read all year. Thanks for the laugh.
Right. Right. But maybe we should choose democratically - with one vote per dollar not allocated to mere survival…
(Hopefully this sarcasm is obvious.)
I don’t want that machine
Let’s take care not to lose sight of what billionaire nepo-babies want.
I figure the engine swap business has got to be booming right now.
Was it pre-spyware? I’ll pay extra for pre-spyware vehicles. I work in IT, so I value my privacy.
Five now. It’s good money.
Or one Google employee who is particularly lousy at building social media bots.
Yes. It’s somehow a fucking race to build the Torment Nexus from the classic science fiction novel “Do not build the Torment Nexus”. It’s almost unbelievable.
You just know a bunch of these assholes are going to turn Cube into a reality, and then act surprised when they wake up inside the death trap.
Very strange when they dropped the slogan, like being honest about being evil got them brownie points.
I thought it was strange too, until I realized - I think the slogan change was a deliberate message to court a specific type of investor/customer: Epstein’s billionaire pedophile friends.

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•is Nebula a valid alternative to Youtube?
4·18 days agoThere is PeerTube. But to your point, full time creators need money, and monetization isn’t solved on PeerTube,

FYI, whether fair or unfair, since you don’t mention having an error-catching mechanism, the rest of us suspect that Lumo is hallucinating things regularly, and you’re not catching the lies, because you lack familiarity with the original source material.
I desperately hope that AI makes drastically fewer mistakes in some roles than others, because most people do not report the error rates that I see in my areas of expertise. So either the errors aren’t happening evenly everywhere (probably true) or some people are simply not catching the many mistakes (also probably true, though?).
