  • The society which we unfortunately exist within has been built for the sole intent of keeping people disconnected and distrustful of each other.

We let the ruling class destroy our communities and replace it with commodities.

And just to point out. Me and you are no better. Here we are, on the Internet bitching instead of talking with our communities. But here is the thing, I have tried talking with mine. Unfortunately, they are a bunch of MAGA troglodytes who blindly support this country and its current administration. So, here I am participating in a community that is at least somewhat like minded to distract myself from the fact I live in a community that would happily string me up for not falling in line.

  • And that effort was usually understood to be necessary and directly for our personal benefit. They still eventually revolted against the labor that was being forced upon them by rulers that wanted to exploit them and the systems that made their lives needlessly more difficult than it had to be.

Our lives might be easier, relatively, but the effort required for most of what we do is entirely arbitrary and obviously only there simply to make things harder for us so we can more easily be exploited.

There is a gigantic difference in the effect on our mental health between labor that is understood to be necessary and mindless toil or effort spent overcoming arbitrary barriers. There is so much wrong with our society and only recently have we had the science to understand just how detrimental it is to our mental well-being.

Okay but, again, this post has nothing to do with Israel. You’re talking about a tangential issue to the one being discussed, which is harmful and denigrating western stereotypes of Muslims.

Yes, colloquially, many westerners use the term “arab” to actually mean Muslim and semitic people are, in fact, a lineage of Arabic people whose identity has been co-opted by British colonizers but, again, that is an issue separate from the issue being discussed.
