How dare the government raise money to fund useless things, like infrastructure, education or social services, right?
I am a guy from southern germany. I like scouting, trains and computers. Politically, I would consider myself as a democratic socialist.
(For anyone wondering, yes this is from the same guy, as !DeckPacker@piefed.blahaj.zone)

Codeberg is a nonprofit, that has a democratic “member” system and is fully funded through donations / member fees.

Codeberg has always been perfectly sane

Why are you against a sales tax?

The main reason in this case, is because I live in Germany, so I’ll be fucking executed, if I get caught pirating.
I already payed a thousand euros a few years ago when I was caught seedimg “Her” (I forgot to turn on my VPN). That’s when I decided to never do anything risky again, so I got a debrid service. That’s fine, because no actual seeding is now happening through my ip.

Yeah, noticed that a few days ago, most of the stuff I watched on streamio was gone.
Luckily, my subscription runs out in like 45 days anyways, so I just switched to Torbox. Works pretty well and is at a similar price. Too bad for the 4€ I wasted, but what can you do I guess

Steve Bannon says this? Sorry for being cynical, but I don’t by anything that Trump’s goons say.
What most people need to understand is that a lot of politicians don’t believe in anything, except serving the interests of their donors.
Just like they didn’t do anything about the “deep state” or the prices of eggs, they will never even consider doing anything that threatens Nvidia or OpenAI.
It’s nice that the political discourse is shifting, but don’t expect anyone who is currently in power to help you in this fight

You could also consider donating it to the projects you are hosting. Because developing that software still takes a lot of labour and these devs really need it

I think both statements are true at the same time

This seems a bit sketchy to me. How am I getting paid for participating when it’s completely free?
That was an awesome read, thank you!
Oh, that worked, thank you!
Maybe you could implement the search suggestions URL into the OpenSearch (because at least when I added it via right click add search engine, it only added the search URL), but that could be an error on my part.
Also, I am just curious, where do you get the search suggestions from? Do you just query one of the engines?
I’ve installed this on my home server and I must say, I am quite impressed!
It just feels so much snappier than SearXNG, I think the loading “animation” helps with that a lot. I also love the whole plugin system, there is already a lot available, maybe in the future, if I have a good idea, I will make one myself.
I was a bit skeptical about the AI thing at first, but at least you are transparent about it and your stance seems to be reasonable.
If you want some suggestions on what to work on in the future, it would be cool, if there was a search suggestion api URL, I could add to Firefox to have search suggestions in my address bar. Also maybe bangs to only search with a certain engine, like in SearXNG.
Thank you for all the work you already put into this, looking forward to future updates!

The great thing about git is, that it is pretty decentralized in principle (everyone has a full copy of all source code and commits on their machines), so it is pretty easy to move your whole repository to an alternative git hoster, like Codeberg.

You could also just not use these services. You don’t need them. They were a stupid idea to begin with.

There is a guide for this here, but I don’t think it’s really possible or a good idea to build it for unsupported devices.
At that point it would be better to install Linuage (or a fork of it), because they support devices for way longer or look into PostmarketOS

What’s your budget?
You can still geht really good deals on older used mini pcs

It’s not real, please don’t fall for this obvious marketing bullshit.

That version will probably give them more intelligent answers than the real Zuck
That actually makes sense, thank you
