  • No algorithms isn’t a selling point to the average user. My Mastodon feed is kinda sad and boring, if I’m not on top of it I’ll just miss interesting posts that happened in the days I didn’t open the app.

Bluesky custom feeds really help with that, while still providing the chronological no-algorithm view as your main feed. It’s just a more interesting experience for people that aren’t chronically online.

  • I think you’re projecting your feelings onto him, he doesn’t hate Star Wars, he was just the wrong director for the job of making a middle movie in a trilogy. He’s a great director, and Episode 8 is a good movie in a vacuum. It’s just a terrible movie if you’re trying to bridge Episode 7 and 9.

I wish Disney had just let Abrams direct the whole sequel trilogy and given Rian Johnson a standalone movie like Solo. It’s pretty clear Disney had no fucking clue what they were doing with Star Wars after they acquired it.

Bridgy doesn’t scrape anything. It works the same as any other ActivityPub instance, the only difference is that it converts some JSON from one format to another.

It also converts edit and deletion events, so in your scenario it would relay that you want your poem or photo deleted.

This isn’t a web scrapper that reposts content like all the bots reposting Reddit threads to Lemmy. This is a protocol translator between federated networks that speak different languages.
