Yeah, you could put a rainbow neon cord down there, you’re not seeing any of it in -20
Fair enough!
Is that specific to the lightning or also the usb-c?
Soup, salad, or sandwich. In that order.
It depends on your definition of awful. People with opposing opinions, perfectly within their legal bounds? Yes. People violating the rights and safety of others? Absolutely not.
Saying they defeated fascists doesn’t imply there are no more fascists left.
I can say I hunted deer, that doesn’t mean there are no more deer left in the wild.
By referring to “fascists” (the people) rather than fascism (the ideology) you narrow your description to more accurately present the scope of your statement. The German Nazi party were fascists. They were defeated. We defeated fascists that day. There are more fascists, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t fight and defeat some number of fascists.
Honestly, more of the world (and especially the US) was strongly opposed to the Nazis during WWII than the population now, because it’s been so long. Which makes the fact you gave even more frustrating for me honestly. Because we have the information now. We know. There’s no excuse for present day.
Replace the word with “fascists” and it makes so much more logical sense. And this is why wording matters
“If you could stop killing people by the millions in a mass cultural genocide, that would be great. Thx.”
These people never seem to realize that even at its most basic level, ensuring equal rights and freedoms requires a level of forfeiting individual freedoms. In order for everyone to have equal right to physical safety, you forego your freedom to punch them in the face without consequence.
These people go to talk about democracy, describe anarchy, then get upset when reality doesn’t meet their expectations. Your expectations don’t meet reality, bud.
Rather than jump to “trauma” here (and believe me, I say this as a person with PTSD), could you elaborate on what you mean by “fear”?
“They’re lesbians, Harold”
Me neither haha. I just use the ToR Tumblr format. But I’ve also been transcribing for over two years and I’ve done over 100 of them (70 on reddit, Lemmy uncounted). So it’s just second nature to me by now
So, transcriptions should be separated by a line break whenever there’s a new major section, like the beginning of the transcription after the title, between Tumblr posts (not between comments), etc. That means hitting enter twice for a new line (only hitting it once doesn’t fully separate them), then typing “—”, then enter again twice. It should look like this.
If you’re still confused, click the 3 dots and then hit “show raw text”, if that’s an option on the platform you use.
Every section of text should be separated by pressing enter twice. This includes any paragraph breaks in the text, any new replies or comments transcribed, or when you’re writing the body of the message after you write the username. The transcription should read as similarly to the image as possible.
The format goes right after the image transcription line, usually in italics. So “Image Transcription: Tumblr post”
Usernames should be written in bold (two asterisks on either side), and placed above the text block, separated by two enters. You don’t need to write “says”, it’s implied! (It doesn’t say “says” on the original image either, but we still know what’s going on, right?). Here’s an example:

You’re doing amazing, keep it up! Transcribing can be more complicated than it looks!
Remember, screen readers read text by selecting each block of text and jumping between them as you select. By putting the username above the text like that, the user can jump between the name and the text to have a smoother experience in understanding it.

Just wanted to give you some tips to help you along the way! You’re doing great, thank you for helping make things more accessible!
Hey, did you want some formatting tips for transcriptions? (Former ToR here)
Ngl aside from the bottom one these are a mood and I was diagnosed at 6
I feel like “great idea” and META don’t really belong in the same sentence
Image Transcription: Image and Text
This is a placebo meme.

Studies have shown that placebo memes are still upvoted even when users are aware they’re placebo.

Beep boo- I mean you’re welcome!
They’re just going to try to make one that’s ever so slightly better, and then patent it again
