Cannabis growers, botanists, scientists. As research on the plant has been allowed in the last decade, these specfic structures have been defined, that’s why it’s the modern definition.

Oh yeah, super common argument, old heads especially. That image is at least a decade old and has served well!

Most scientific studies and even most modern literature identify that structure in the image as the bract. Whereas the cannabis calyx is a few cells thick and covers the seed, part of the perianth. it’s not visible until a seed has expanded.

Despite all this you still see it both ways, or bract (calyx)/calyx(bract). Calyx was the term for a long time.

Cannabis growers tend to use the words bract and calyx interchangeably. In actuality, the little oval shape with hairs coming out is actually a bract. In cannabis the actual calyx is a sheath of cells around the thing that becomes the seed once fertilized.

A cannabis flower is just a collection of bracts. We tend to colloquially call the fat pair of little bracts that form at the base of the buds where they branch into leaves, the calyx

Do you know the genetics of the plant? That looks like a “grinspoon” or “string of pearls” mutation. There’s another version called willowing, but the leaves are twisted when it’s that.

I think i see where you’re coming from, to me it feels like traveling a long path from the obvious economics of subsidy and advertising, especially the ubiquity of beef, and making that about the patriarchy. Feels removed from the problem of economic incentive, but more than just access seems to drive it, this paper has multiple relevant drivers though and it does seem to be at least partially based on gender.

Meat consumption by males goes up when you have a developed nation, it’s almost purely economic, stupid to try to make this part of the culture war considering how small these communities are and their median ages.

That being said, if any plant based hormones were cheaper than the meat based alternative (all meat based cat food is also fortified in this way), the industry would switch to plant based and not tell anyone.

One of the most amazing experiences as an adult is going back through pictures of people doing things. My friends, my family. I sit with my wife and kids and we tell stories to them about our youth, they ask questions about them. The most amazing experience is showing them those pictures and seeing their amazement that their old parents were once young men and women.

There is nothing wrong with not posting those for other people, but pictures of people have a way helping you visceraly remember the emotions of that event.

Yes that’s true, that true with almost every country. That doesn’t remove any of the extenuating circumstances that Trump created as the executive in office at the time. And almost any other previous Republican or Democrat who had been in office would have done better.

Trump isn’t a magician or something, he’s was just a terrible president who mishandled every bit of communication. All you are doing is strawmanning a negative opinion against a person who had an important job and fucked it up.

I really feel like you’ve purposefully shoved down the memory hole how much of the anti mask rhetoric came directly from Trump’s cabinet and network, and how he refused to wear them in public, expect for a couple occasions, because they would mess up his makeup.
