Glass that’s greener?
Shouldn’t it be the grass that’s always greener?
Glass is greener on the other side due to physics
Soda lime glass, yes.
Oh that ok. It’s not green on this side.
pass, I want clear glass.
I’m still waiting until we switch to transparent aluminum. some crazy Scottish guy in San Fransisco traded the formula for a bunch of plexiglas back in the mid-80s.
That’s a ceramic. Not exactly what people mean when they say “aluminum.” I mean, if that’s considered aluminum, then so is sapphire.
neither is “transparent”
this IS what I was talking about, or, rather, the real-world version of it. I was making a Star Trek reference in my previous comment, for those who didn’t catch it.
Ohhhh! Greener as in more environmentally friendly, not color.
Sounds pretty neat!
But is it cost effective?
they don’t say but it uses significantlly less energy which I believe is the biggest expense in glassmaking. Im hoping it can be a replacement and that we might see more glass containers come back given its greater strength thus lower chance at shattering from a fall.
