I’m considering getting these games. I’m more of a Need for Speed fan most of the time, but I’m looking for a game that is DRM free and that feels great to play and can run on most modern computers.

Thoughts?

1 and 2 are good, but show their age a bit.

Same devs later made wreckfest, also available on GOG, and it’s a blast. Some modes can be a little frustrating (IMHO) but overall strongly recommended. A sequel is coming soon.

Agree and adding DO NOT BUY FLATOUT 3. The publishers took the name and tossed it to some jank-ass mobile game developer for a quick buck.

I really enjoyed the first flatout games when I was young. I did get them on a sale on steam a while back and enjoyed playing them again. I wouldn’t say they feel much like any NFS I’ve played but they’re definitely of an arcadey racer style that’s enjoyable. The vehicle damage feature was very satisfying and if I remember correctly it was one of if not the first of that type of game to include ejections (and even included some wild mini games around that feature). I do recommend at least the first 2. I’m definitely interested in checking out Wreckfest that was mentioned in another reply
