Its pretty fucked they dont interview any of the staff. Who gives a fuck about the rich passengers?

We should be reading about what happened to the hands below deck. The workers. What do they have to say about it?

The vast majority of cruise ship passengers are middle class. This hatred on lemmy for anyone and everyone who has even some form of disposable income is ridiculous.

I know more working class people that have been on cruises than middle class ones, TBH. Probably coincidence, but still…

I worked on Queen Mary 2 for a year, back in 2010/11. From my experience that ship was probably 25% working class 70% middle, and 5% rich folks.

The worst guests were almost always middle class. They were the ones who had to let everyone know how many voyages they’d taken with Cunard over the years, and they were the ones who expected the crew to bow to their requirements.

The working class folks were just happy to be there, and made sure they had a great time, while the upper classes were actually pretty chill.

The cruise ship industry as a whole probably tries to avoid having their crews speak to journalists in general, considering some of the shady shit they get up to.
