Firefox is basically in maintainance mode the way i see it. If you then look at all the other stuff mozilla is doing (ad tech, AI garbage, useless cloud features, marketing) you get a picture of where the management is placing priority. Things that lead to monetization. There are a few cool things like Thunderbird and Mozilla Location Service, but the latter has already been killed off sadly.

Why wouldnt they? The majority of money at Mozilla has been going to worthless management people and side projects nobody wants. Only a tiny fraction of the money Mozilla spends would be required to pay the devs that actually develop Firefox. Im saying Firefox needs to be hard forked and Mozilla can go to shit for all i care. As long as Mozilla exists, nobody will do it so maybe its even necessary for Mozilla to die.

They control all the endpoints/clients so even if they didnt, they could change it at any moment as the code isnt open…

Donate to the hopefully less greed driven and user data hungry people that will take up the development.

Its specifically sensitive to salt, so you can use it for anything with little or no salt without issue. Also it would be perfect for basically all packaging applications that dont involve food but do require an airtight seal. So you could probably replace the majority of all single use plastic packaging/containers with it.

It gives you full control over everything required for push notifications. If you self host tge server its perfect ofc, but even if you dont, spreading notification data over hundreds or thousands of push servers makes it much harder for governments to find what they are looking for.

And that is why we use ntfy :)
