i think there’s lots of different flavors of android or something, such that different phones handle the user-facing file system totally differently. it might also be that nicer phones the devs put more effort into making UX have a more forgiving learning curve but because android isn’t truly open source those developments are inaccessible to other users
It’s almost as if this is a computer architecture designed for
idiotshuman beings whodon’t know or care what a file isinteract with computers on a non-file oriented basis or have been lied to and systemically unsupported in their education for what purposes their data is being harvested. No hate. No useful conversation starts with calling large swaths of people idiots, is all.
i wrote a whole comment but deleted it this comment explains better https://programming.dev/comment/17202550

find new ways to enjoy or prepare fresh fruits and veggies, get cardiovascular exercise, bonus points if in the sun for vitamin d, avoid stress when possible, sleep 7 hours when possible, avoid smoking, alcohol in excess, and other substances that put strain on your body. take care of yourself emotionally and find time to be with people you love. drink water!
no one will be able to do all of these perfectly always and it is normal to struggle attain most or even any. but they are more precise and beneficial targets than “gain or lose weight” and they have much more immediate and noticeable outcomes :)
Conversely, though, remember that unhealthy nutritional choices can mess with your immunity, cause inflammation, and really screw with your day-to-day energy and sleep. Nutrition is always a story performed on a much more complicated stage than weight=calories in - calories out! (Though that equation is a good signpost that guides the plot.) See https://lemmy.cafe/comment/9956540
To ammend even further: Health neither stops nor starts at weight in almost any case. Far better strategies for self care will instead look at:
- Cardiovascular fitness (resting heart rate, blood pressure, etc)
- Energy levels, blood sugar and sleep
- Immunity, inflammation, stress
More broad attention to these three rough categories is going to be way more positive than worrying about the single metric of weight or BMI. Doctors may recommend a raise or lowering of weight, but for ALMOST EVERY person that’s only as a means to the end of improving one or more of the broader cardio, energy, and immunity mechanisms.

I couldn’t find anything :( oddly, fediverse.observer actually was logging data before that time but it’s only accessible to me via wayback: https://web.archive.org/web/20241010192709/https://pixelfed.fediverse.observer/dailystats

@diasporg@mas.to any reason fediverse.observer is limited to only a few months? (no clue if this cross-platform ping will work but giving it a shot)
I feel insane that no one has commented this yet??? The data clearly only starts in November. At minimum this is our second plateau and I seem to recall more that have happened lmao.

12·1 year agoSounds like there should be a page for sportsbots then. Mirroring “hundreds to low thousands” of accounts to Lemmy just sounds insane and poorly curated.

351·1 year agoNo. Account mirroring and bot posts go against the essential nature of social threaded link aggregation. I see sportsbots is already a Mastodon project which makes much more sense because microblogging has a follow-the-user rather than a follow-the-community model. Lemmy is follow-the-community. If there is interest in this content, users will create a Lemmy community and post content there. Maybe they will even link to the sportsbots mirror. But don’t just set up a script to do it for you, that’s just something people are going to block.

it might be useless gossip but for some reason a lot of fedi has various problems with this guy. for various reasons… he just has like … off vibes?
i guess similar to how lemmy devs are marxist lenninists—at least making it open source means projects can be forked if the founders go off the deep end.

123·1 year agocapitalism is right wing, correct.
but not all pro-capitalists are capitalists.
a pro-capitalist could be right wing, or they could be a victim of the powerful capitalist propaganda machine. this is how we get “bootlickers” and “temporarily embarrassed billionaires.”
more generally, OOP commits the sin of trying to wedge a specific category with economic meaning into a broad unspecific category which can have various economic manifestations depending on who you ask and at what time.
it’s an okay post. not particularly insightful and could use some workshopping.
??i’m seeing plenty of protests all over the place, why on earth does one have to be at the white house to count lol
