Picking some fresh raspberries every couple days and trying to keep everything on the balcony alive while it’s 30°C out. Seems like most of my sage plants have given up even though I trimmed their flowers, that’s unexpected. Fig cutting seems to be thriving in this weather, so that’s nice, since it was definitely dying before.

I went from oneplus 6 to nothing phone 1, which is alright. Sadly some friends bought the nothing phone 2 after I recommended the brand and they both don’t like it. After this I’ll probably move to fairphone if I can afford it at that time

I know this sounds condescending but isn’t this more of a reading comprehension / media literacy problem than an AI problem? These people apparently believe whatever an LLM tells them and, critically, only realised they were being goaded when they asked a different LLM. Sounds like the problem is between keyboard and monitor, no? If you can’t critically evaluate information being sent your way, no matter who from, you’re at risk of delusion. We see it all around us, really AI only accelerates the proces.

On the one hand, it’s nice to be able to have the recruiter AI agent I made write applications for me because I hate that part. After that, I can do the interviews myself just fine and I’m all good.

On the other hand, it feels disgusting and lazy.

But it works much better than last time I was job hunting (last year) and did everything by hand.

It’s showing me that (as far as I can tell) recruiters don’t give a shit and barely read what you send them. They’ll reach out as long as your LinkedIn is SEO optimised.

I have a lot of sage growing hard and fast so I’m going to have to harvest some this weekend to prevent the plants from collapsing.

Now I’m regretting not planting tomatoes, would have made a nice soup with the sage.

In other news: I introduced a beetle into my terrarium that I thought would help eat the little flies that got in there. Turns out my research was wrong and the beetle is a herbivore that’s eating the plants in my terrarium… Whoops. I haven’t seen it since I put it in there, but I have seen leaves getting slowly chomped up and a lot of tiny poops on the plants and glass.

Fortunately it seems to dislike everything that’s not a fern, so I’m expecting everything to work out. Or maybe the beetle will show up and I’ll take it out again. At least it’s been interesting 😂

Sowed most of my herb seeds last week cause the temperatures were so high (15C+) that I figured all the February - April ones were good to go. Parsley, thyme, oregano and sage are in. Gonna do basil and Indian cress later. I’m very curious to see how they all do :)
