I don’t block anything. I’m not gaining anything by isolating myself in a bubble of comfort that consists of only things that I agree with. I already agree, there’s nothing new to learn. I get my tankie content on Lemmy and magat content on YouTube. I know what the people I disagree with disagree about. I know what their arguments are, why they are wrong(and sometimes partially right), and what to say if they do want to discuss.

Less lethal just means more practice.

It’s weird seeing how “the algorithm” has genuinely only made things worse. Falling into the YouTube rabbit hole was a thing, and it was entirely organic. From the loose connections of topics, you could start from any feel good funny video, and end in detailed documentary about MK Ultra.

The best algorithm was no algorithm and there’s no way of ever going back to that. I feel pretty lucky to have experienced the internet before it became everything.

That’s the nice thing about laser printers, lasers are super accurate. You’re not moving any significant mass around. All you’re doing is rotating a mirror and moving that beam in a single axis. If you continuously spin the mirror then your accuracy depends on how fast you can turn the diode on and off.
