While technically true, there were plenty of affiliated fascist organisations around the world who openly paraded their nazi sympathies in public. Oswald Mosely and his British Union of Fascists spring to mind.

If you have a VPN, it’s trivial to point it at your pihole to get the benefits of both on the go, I agree it’s not for everyone but you really dislike ads and tracking, there’s little better out there to protect you and the barrier to entry is pretty low, though not zero.

181·1 month agoThere’s evidence of dog domestication at some of the oldest discovered human archaeological sites. Seems that for as long as humans have been humans we’ve had dogs at our side. Predating all other forms of domestication, including those for food. Without each other, we wouldn’t be the same.
WW2 started as a series of separate, regional conflicts that gradually pushed the world to a major war. Japan in China, Italy in Africa, Germany in Central and Eastern Europe.
The world didn’t just wake up on Sept 1st 1939 and say: I guess we at war now. These things always start this way and spiral out of control.
Even the world’s first global conflict, the War of Spanish Succession started with French and Austria fighting over the crown of Spain but various other European powers were dragged in as various regional conflicts coalesced into a major war.
