  • I wasn’t advocating for it friend, that’s what op was asking for alternatives to. Just saying that’s where I ended up, have either gotten used to it or learned to season around it and I like just having one simple, natural, shelf-stable go to oil. My input here is that churn style country crock is on par with the finest “vegan butter” sticks and much cheaper. Even passed blind test by a very picky partner

  • I might reevaluate my risk assessment and consider including other media. It’s right in there with weed in terms of both risk and reward, in that you’ll probably have fun/make a lot of people happy but definitely still need other means of support. There’s a guy doing exactly what you’re talking about at pretty much every educational institution for starters, and the risk is essentially being told to stop

  • I mean… I genuinely believe your phone (and the watch I correctly assumed you wore) log all of those things, for a start. It’s essentially free for them to do and there’s value to be extracted from that data. My earnest answer to the mocking strawman question you pose would be that you, garmin, your healthcare provider/insurance company, various advertisers, and law enforcement for a start would love to know the frequency, consistency, and volume of your shits for various reasons and that same data on a population in aggregate is even more valuable.

Anyway if you want hyperbole, informing the corpos of your turd girth is a traitorous betrayal of our species and will be punishable by death when the revolution comes. Hope you’re having a nice day lol

  • Actually the issue you are referencing affected both 4runners and pickups 89-95 with the 3.0l V6 3VZ-FE, and the cylinder heads themselves were prone to warping. Offering to slap new gaskets in was a cop out, no change to the gaskets would have been able to correct the issue. Most second gens still on the road have either the extremely well regarded 2.4l I4 22R-E or an engine swap. The 3.4l V6 5VZ-FE is in my opinion an ideal candidate, but the Toyota UZ series V8 Chevy 4.3l V6 and Buick 3800 Series II are also popular choices

  • Old post but yes, exactly. It’s a classic strat and exactly what happened to the farmer’s coop where I grew up. Greasy executive types just see community built infrastructure as free for the taking and they aren’t wrong in a strictly practical sense. Without vigilance and widespread participation (not just shopping) there’s huge potential for abuse and REI hasn’t been a strong coop for a long time. Have you ever put in hours there? Ours is still going, now as a very successful farm supply/fuel depot. A director just kinda slowly stopped organizing members, kept the fee the same so long it became irrelevant, raised prices, you know. Ran it like a business until it became one
