As long as those lemon stealing whores don’t have a sudden urge of changing profession, those trees will feed billions. BILLIONS!

Clearly pure evil. I mean he’s literally sitting on the piled up corpses of his enemies!

6·1 day agoFor a little bit more than a fully fledged Orange/Radxa (and considerably under the price of a 16GB RasPi) you can buy e.g. the Morefine M6 - the size of an iPhone, works off of 12V USB-PD, 3-4W idle, 8-10W under heavy load, and with the newer N200 CPU you even get video codec goodies (perfect for e.g. running 3-4 fully local CCTV cameras with local face/object detection, which the Pi would struggle with).

691·1 day agoI knew them going public was a mistake.
The Foundation did great work, because it was by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.
The private company, I can understand - after all money has to come from somewhere and for proper salaries etc., you need a company.
But going public was just inviting shareholder control, and we all know shareholders only care about short term profit extraction. This is perfectly visible - earnings good so stock goes up, shareholders enjoy dividends and sell high, company crashes and goodbye RasPi.
IIRC Arduino did the same and the only reason the brand is still alive is because Qualcomm decided to buy them up and enshittify the brand even further.

1062·1 day agoBut hey lets celebrate the fact that RPi Holdings managed to secure a large stock of memory chips at pre-inflation prices before the AI craze quadrupled those prices, and that they’re TOTALLY not ripping off their buyers right now!

Don’t get me wrong, LLMs can be a great tool - if you know how to use them. They’re great for research, because they can formalise a half-assed question into a proper query, provide extra terminology you can include in your search terms and so on. But you have to keep in mind that it’s not a super-intelligent all-knowing thing. It is at best a thesaurus. And you have to use it accordingly.
Sadly most people think of it as a direct search engine.
Depends on how you spend it on horses.
But even then, if you buy $200k worth of horses, the other $800k goes on upkeep. Horses are expensive.
What do you mean, that guy is obviously VP of Engineering if not C-suite

sorry bud but if you have the patent and artificially keep demand high and supply low, you don’t deserve that patent.

62·4 days agoThe one thing I dislike is the chewing gum part.
Sure, if you litter with it, get punishment. But just for chewing gum, or using a vape (not like in a crowded area but separate from people where you don’t annoy others)?
On the other hand, enforcing social norms this way does make the city more liveable. In the western world, social norms have collapsed these past few years to the point where everyone selfishly can do whatever they want, as acceptable behaviours haven’t been codified.
I am convinced that cats and Au/DHD people have the same brain mis-wirings that result in the enjoyment of the most twisted-out body contortions.
